| Ordinarily, a speedy MC-24a shuttle from the shipyards at Dac would be used to tour the Pammant Docks, but Finbar wouldn't have it—the MC-24a was too spartan for this occasion. He had insisted on the use of the Mon Calamari delegation's Eddicus II-class inter-planetary transport instead, even though it wasn't a Calamari design, mainly because its large observation rooms would provide the Crown Prince of Alderaan with a complete view of the project, now almost complete. Indeed, the Endurance-class Heavy Cruiser that Alderaan had commissioned had been mostly constructed at Dac and moved to Pammant to have its weapons installed and tested.
"I think you'll be pleased, Senator," Finbar said, standing beside Ordan as the immense warship filled the observation room's large, transparisteel dome, the ship's green-and-gold hull in brilliant contrast to the brown hues of Pammant, far below. In fact, Finbar wasn't sure if Ordan would be pleased. The "extension" mechanism that Alderaan had insisted on—by which the Endurance-class could "extend" over 100 meters from one configuration to another—had been a challenge for the Mon Calamari design team. They had managed to do it, but the power requirement had been greater than anticipated. A larger reactor was needed, but wouldn't fit in the smaller, 600 meter configuration; thus, something had to go or the ship would run at a power deficit. The redundant shielding was out of the question—that was a trademark of Mon Calamari design. So the designers had been forced to scrap some of the ship's weapons.
Finbar stole a glance at Ordan's leathery, Human face, trying to discern from the Crown Prince's expression what he thought of the reduced armament. He'd already presented to Ordan all of the facts and figures showing that Mon Calamari had done more to meet his expectations than any other shipyard could, and that the nearly-completed warship before him was as fully-realized as the original concept could possibly be.
Still, it bothered him when a customer's specifications weren't met. He didn't mind representing the Mon Calamari shipyard personally because, in many ways, the shipyard's products were more of a representative of the Calamari people to the rest of the galaxy than Finbar himself was. What was good for the Mon Calamari shipyard was most certainly good for Mon Calamari. If, on the other hand, the shipyard failed to meet the expectations of its customers, Finbar felt that it reflected poorly on him and his entire species—even on non-Human species everywhere. (A typically-irrational fear from the overly-sensitive Finbar).
Hence Ordan had been treated to the finest and freshest Calamari cuisine during his stay on Dac and his tour of Pammant, and even now his entourage back on Dac was being treated to a chamber performance of the suite from "Squid Lake." Finbar had done his best to make a favorable impression on the Alderaanians, but this was the one moment on the tour that was beyond his control. He waited anxiously for Ordan's response, grateful that the ignorant Human wouldn't be able to recognize the signs of anxiety in his pigmentation.

| Ordan sniffed as he made the tour, having had a rather excessive level of squid in his life, the smell of their preprepared form seemed to fill these docks and fill him with a level of nausea. This perhaps helped the Calamari as Ordan was hardly in the best of spirits or in the mood for much aggression while he felt like losing his lunch on the deck.
"Of course you've failed to meet on certain provisions of the contract, haven't you Senator Finbar." he said distantly "Even though she is a fine ship. How many weapons have you had to drop again? I understand the range issue on them, that was blue sky thinking, but I feel reductions in numbers is a major concern. We would be prepared to incur additional cost to pay for weapons with their own generators to power them and reduce the overall strain on the main generators? Or at least a percentage.. We feel the term of an offer to donate ships to yourselves would have to be reduced by one of the two Alderaan-class vessels? How are the smaller defense frigates coming?
If we cut out the crew quarters.. except minimal ones for a few technicians and officers/marines and also the pilots and their techs.. would there be space? I was reading about the BRT Supercomputer, I have been reasonably informed that such a computer could run all aspects of a ship like this one with a droid maintenance crew, the BRT is a 7.6 meter cube and droid racks and droids dont take up much space. If I made the ship, or even ships (including the frigates) reduced in organic crews like the Alderaan-class which just has 700 repair droids and a high level AI running the ship, with an official captain and bridge staff there for formalities."
He sweated a little, the smell seemed more intense in the presence of this Neimoidian, although he seemed reasonable (Ordan had always been taught to be polite to aliens even if he felt superior to them) his eyes were just so.. sealike. The pigmentation was not noticed, and it was hoped that the occasional wretching, sweating and discomfort would likewise go un-noticed.
