| "I'll do my best to do what I can, Senator," Ryuun said without hesitation. "As I said, I can't promise no difficulties, what with the people in the cabinet and the military opposing too much Trade Federation influence on Druckenwell, but I will, within reason, act to bolster Trade Federation support on my homeworld. Some of your largest opposition, as well, may come from the heads of Druckenwell Arms and Druckenwell Shipyards."

| "I thus offer you the post of Conciliation Vizier for the Doldur Regional Branch of the Trade Federation, you're to be paid a Vizier Grade salary, to receive all honours and dignity bestowed on a Trade Federation Vizier and the right to claim such expenses as you may require (within reason, you may write your own budget, to be overseen by Mr Mallix) to complete your assigned task. To Conciliate Druckenwell and the Trade Federation, to bring us together to become one.
Two thirds of your cabinet (those you can show are most loyal and those likely to become loyal to the Trade Federation) you may offer patronage positions as Trade Development Officers to the Trade Federation Druckenwell Branch, this will involve a generous salary. They'll be expected to attend Seminars for Ten Days a year and that will be the balance of their duties. They'll form your Council of Advisers meeting monthly except every sixth month to help you complete your task of cementing the two interests together.
I believe what is best for the Trade Federation is best for Druckenwell, very firmly.
If these shipyards heads prove difficult, or corporate leaders prove difficult. Buy them out and make them subsidiaries of the company. I'd be willing to have that as an allowable expense for greater stability in the relationship between us. Offer something better than they're worth but don't be excessive, Mr Mallix is your man for working this out. Buy out these corporations and simply remove them from the game. We have the money to facilitate these things Senator Ryuun.."

| Considering the issue, Ryuun nodded at last. "It won't be done overnight. It can't be done overnight. It's going to take months. Likely a year or more, even, to get everything into place at the point where I won't face opposition and I can clean it all up relatively quickly." Ryuun nodded to himself again. "Very well, Senator Cynum. I accept. The best place for me to begin would be to start feeling out the cabinet. I'd prefer if the matter was left to me to try and ease around the military issue, as well. If I can bring the Marshal around, it would save a lot of trouble. And questions."

| Almost before Ryuun had finished his sentence, Kragg loosed a sudden, deafening screech that seemed almost to echo in the ensuing silence, until—"If Master Kragg may interject," Zeepio translated helpfully. The Colicoid stared at Ryuun with an intensity in his demonic-looking eyes. A series of chirps and clicks—as loud as Kragg was large—followed, again translated by Zeepio. "Master Kragg inquires of Senator Ryuun whether he really expects Your Honors to believe that he agrees completely with the objectives of Senator Cynum's bill, and would have supported it enthusiastically if only for domestic opposition to the bill on a world whose people owe their prosperity (and their paychecks) to the Trade Federation?"
More clicks, chirps, and ear-piercing screeches. Kragg waved his enormous, clawed limbs in the air as he spoke. Zeepio, again, translated. "Is it not unreasonable, if Senator Ryuun, in fact, does support Senator Cynum's bill, to demonstrate his support for it not by 'bringing the Sky Marshal around,' but rather by removing him from power? Or would the Senator have someone else do it for him?"
Added (12 November 13, 10:37 PM) --------------------------------------------- In other words, Kragg was demanding a gesture of loyalty from Ryuun in exchange for the new position that Cynum had offered him. And that gesture would be to fire the Sky Marshal and thereby cut off the head of the anti-Trade Federation hueche that had infiltrated Druckenwell's government. And if Ryuun refused to do so, as far as Kragg was concerned the Senator was lying—a closet opponent of the Trade Federation blaming Vickensen and everyone under Druckenwell's sun but himself for his opposition to Cynum's bill. Yes, a gesture of loyalty was needed, because Kragg didn't trust Ryuun anywhere near as far as he could throw him.

| Ryuun stared coldly at the predator sitting near him, and when he spoke, his voice was cold, with thinly-controlled anger held beneath. "Droid, inform Kragg, clearly if you will, that his knowledge of Druckenwell law is clearly lacking. It would require a two-thirds majority vote to remove Vickensen from his office. The man is too well liked for that. He was considered and put forth as a candidate for the senatorship and only failed to gain the position because he preferred not to depart the military service.
"Vickensen and I have known one another quite some time. If ousting him from office will not suffice, and if Senator Cynum is unwilling to see him brought around, then there are... certain people I know how to contact through certain channels to ensure the problem is dealt with. Master Kragg is extended a welcome hand in friendship to watch firsthand to bring word back that the task has been completed. It works well, with him being on Druckenwell as often as he is. Is this acceptable, Senator Cynum?"

| Kragg sat back on his haunches, crossing two of his clawed limbs across the Colicoid's equivalent of a chest, shaking his head as he seemed to mutter to himself—a grunting sound, and another series of clicks. A moment later, it became clear that CZ-PO had no intention of translating what his master had said, which was just as well; Kragg had remarked that Druckenwell was a backward world if it couldn't even remove an underling like Vickensen--a civil servant, in command of the military—without a 2/3rds majority even in cases of incompetence. To Kragg, it was workforce management 101 that you don't put popularity ahead of job performance, and for exactly this reason.
But Druckenwell's law didn't much concern him anyway. Zeepio had, in fact, translated Kragg's words faithfully, and the Colicoid had said "remove from power"—by less-than-legal means, if necessary. But Kragg wouldn't press the point, for it would be clear enough to everyone at the table that Ryuun hadn't said whether or not he actually supported Cynum's bill. And so Kragg remained suspicious of Lomen Ryuun.
He made a curt, but suitably deferential nod to Cynum, signaling that he was as satisfied as he was going to be.

| "Most acceptable, get rid of the Gentleman and your loyalty is demonstrated by acts, Conciliation Vizier Ryuun, go forth and do good work. I do not expect miracles. In a month, a year, even five years. But I believe you are the man who can bring us all closer together. Meeting Adjourned." Lomen Ryuun was then free to leave as he wished.

| And with that, Ryuun would depart, back to his shuttle and back to Coruscant.
