| Jumped in before Cynum could reply. "Not so much as your vote against. But the principle of the thing. The way you conducted it indelicately and caused the Trade Federation to lose face. This will not do. It is not the appropriate way to do things." as Brian appeared to want to speak next he nodded to him.

| "It implies a division of loyalty." he picked up his tea cup and swirled it around. "The Trade Federation and the other Corporations here give you and your world their prosperity, is that not a fact?" he left it to Ryuun to reply.

| Mallix jumped in with an unwelcome addition "Admiral Kruus is in fact correct 99% of Economic Growth is related to Corporations represented at this table and their subsidiaries. The number of jobs sustained on Druckenwell by Corporations here-represented, their subsidiaries or those they contract work to represents 85% of employment positions, that it to say several billion jobs."

| Ryuun considered the questions in silence for a moment before speaking to the holoprojector. "Zoom. Military Security. Highlight section two and three." As the mentioned sections grew larger and began to glow faintly, Ryuun glanced towards the Rear Admiral. "Druckenwell does enjoy a measure of prosperity due to the Trade Federation, Techno Union and BlasTech's work, yes. However, there were certain matters in Senator Cynum's legislation that caused a rather large clamor among people that I cannot simply wave a hand at and usher to silence. Sky Marshal Rolf Vickenson, commander of Druckenwell's navy was one such personage, and he has the ear of quite a few influential members of the cabinet due to his service and respected military knowledge. He is but one member of the military that held issue with the proposal. I will not begin to list every single corporate head or cabinet member or military voice with weight that influenced my call to oppose Senator Cynum's bill. Frankly, I don't think you have any interest in hearing it, but the point stands, I serve at the behest of the voters. Granted, I have just won another four years only a few scant months ago, and to oust me from office by Druckenwellian law would practically take an act of criminal offense of high magnitude, but there is more than one way to remove an official, or block his work, without forcing a resignation.
"Gentlemen, it has been two years, three months and six days since the last attempt on my life. I'd rather not worry that a disgruntled corporate employee with some bent that I've done him extreme wrong, or some ex-military member with a good rifle and a high spot decides to end my life well before its natural span. Yet, I digress. To answer your statement, Rear Admiral, there will always be a clear division of what I put first, Druckenwell, over what I can do to support the Trade Federation, if certain acts are unreasonable. Unless your intent is to simply have me as a puppet senator, you put me in a very uncomfortable spot."

| "The point is not the motion, it is that, we need to know that you're our man, Mr Ryuun. Because if you are not our man, that is your decision. Other statesmen can be bought, older ones can be tarnished, economies can sputter into recession due to one bad leader or Senator's policies..." he smiled "Let me not be indelicate. If I wanted to I could break your career in a vast number of ways, your family, friends, finances, etc.. But I am not a man who would want to do such ghastly things to a man who I believe can be saved from his error. I ask you Senator Ryuun, do you wish to be our man, and so the man who brings your world a century of prosperity?"
"If you are our man. Then all is forgiven, on the condition that in all circumstances you have a disagreement with TF legislation, political statements etc that you contact a member of the Senate Delegation so we might discuss your problem and ameliorate it without humiliating the Federation in front of the mob"
He took note of the Sky Marshall's name, nodding over to Mallix who jotted it down. "Perhaps there are other names of people you can give us that are.. oppositional.. to the Trade Federation? It might be useful so that we might, conduct discussions to change their minds. As for this Admiral, you believe he poses the Federation or your Government a threat?"

| Sitting there, Ryuun was quiet for a long moment, digesting Cynum's thinly-veiled threats. With a faint, vexed sigh, Ryuun folded his arms across his chest, defensively. "Then I'll discuss future problems with you before speaking so openly about it in the forum. That way I can resolve issues with you behind the scenes and we can come to a suitable conclusion that allows both Druckenwell and the Trade Federation to prosper without seeming to have a divided front.
"As for the rest... I'll have to compile a list. Sky Marshal Vickenson is no threat to the government or the Trade Federation in terms of direct action; the man's a decorated hero and it was only through his action that a number of raiding and smuggling forces were defeated. I won't get into accolades about the anti-piracy actions. However, he's old-school. He puts Druckenwell before his own good. I don't see him easily taking orders from a Trade Federation member. Especially one who he hasn't known for a very long time."

| "That is well. And I think I understand what you're saying about the Martial.. I believe Kragg has taken especially close notice." he smiled, pleased they reached an amicable conclusion, they'd have this old guard murdered and then things would move forward at jig time. How many people are in your cabinet that are loyal to the Trade Federation?"

| Indeed, Kragg caught Ryuun's proverbial drift and made a mental note of this troublesome "Sky Marshal Rolf Vickensen." A rapid clicking noise seemed to emanate from whatever organ a Colicoid had instead of a stomach. A hungry sound? Perhaps.

| "It's not just the Sky Marshal," Ryuun commented after another moment's pause. "He has the backing of many of the high-ranking officers within the military as well. As for the cabinet, I know of eight who solidly back the Trade Federation." Ryuun squirmed a bit, feeling rather uncomfortable with the situation. "If this satisfies the situation, Senator Cynum, might we call this meeting to an end?"

| Cynum would note that Ryuun was a physical coward, apparently phased by the Colicoid. "I'd like to give you the job of conciliating between the Trade Federation and Druckenwell, to bring us closer together. You'd be given all the support you need fiscally and otherwise.. Are you the man to bring our peoples together for mutual profit and increased happiness?"
