Background-
Luneray Kruus comes from a well established lineage of voracious social climbers, who ate their way to the very top of the pile. He is though not awfully popular with the current Trade Monarch on Neimoidia, being seen as something of an upstart in their Aristocratic society, due to having risen through ability and hard work in the Trade Federation. Despite Royal Disfavour he does have a degree of popular fame due to his universally regarded status in Neimoidian society as a Polymath and Poet.
For a time Luneray sat on the Directorate of the Trade Federation, although stepping aside in this position in order to allow himself a degree of public detachment from the Trade Federation (essentialy to avoid becoming the Trade Federation's Senator, which would rule him out of the running in any election for the Chancellory). Early in his career he was heavily involved with the creation of the Free Trade Zones in the Outer Rim.
Kruus has after long and loyal service and rising through the echelons of the Trade Federation Bureaucracy been appointed to the position of Trade Baron and allowed to become Senator in a seat which the Trade Federation has safely bought for several generations, that of the Humbarine Sector (one mindlessly dependent upon Trade Federation factories on their worlds and Trade Federation shipping to Galactic Markets from their Sector.
Interestingly, Humbarine now has the largest Neimoidian community of any world outside of the Colonies region. Thanks to sustained Trade Federation involvement in the Sector's economy. As Senator, he has proven capable and loyal to the goals of the Trade Federation and has reliably acted as a member of the Trade Federation voting bloc.
Some months after entering the Senate he was appointed to the Galactic Republic Trade Council, which he slickly politicked his way to the head of. From there he found himself eminent enough to be a member of the Senatorial Council which advised the Chancellor, and thus via frantic use of contacts gained through these more junior positions he entered the General Ministry, appointed in a previous regime to the Economics Ministry.
