| Word from the commerce channels on the Holonet is that Lorrd suffered some form of brutal attack on peaceful merchantmen waiting to land and also the rumoured deployment of.. something.. into the upper atmosphere that scientists at Lorrd University described to me as "likely to be" a massive amount of hot alpha particles.
May I ask if the incident is contained? This type of pollutant spreads quickly and could poison much of your world as the stratospheric air currents disperse them, it could take years for all of such particles to fall to the ground. And on the ground they will kill anything in contact with them or ingesting them.
If there is a plume of alpha particles, regardless of the cause or blame for it, I ask that Lorrd allow us to deploy decontamination teams immediately and allow us to form a multi-disciplinary assessment of the best method to pull these particles from your atmosphere, before they become a hidden deadly peril for all lorrdians scattered among the fields.
You need so many precautions I can barely list them, all buildings should have shoe wash facilities and rad counters at the door, you need to create safe decontaminated buildings for citizens while cleanup is underway... I would like the Lorrdian delegate to assure me this is in hand. If he has a plan I am happy to leave him to it, but if he is unprepared (and there is no shame in that, this is a ghastly and massive dump of the worst sort of waste in the conditions it spreads best at the perfect level for maximum dispersal.
Any aid you require, the Trade Federation can provide. But I ask if there is any ego or pride in this to swallow it and just allow us to help. The longer the delay the more deaths are likely, the decontamination success rate drops, the more chronic problems are caused as a knock on etc. Once it is in your seawater, it can poison fisheries and depopulate whole oceans.

| Has the Governor declared a state of emergency? Is an immediate planetwide quarantine in place? We urge Lorrd to declare a state of emergency so the Chancellor may likewise sign it so and open up the massive number of emergency grants and loans for your businesses and people in this time of strife. Cargo from Lorrd may be contaminated by the airborn dust and could pose a hazard to all of us. I would like to suggest three days full quarantine and then fully intensive onboard scans of all ships in and out of Lorrd by the Judicial forces for at least half a year.

| I have just left a committee meeting and had not heard of this. Was this an accident? a negligent dump or waste or something more sinister? An update from Lorrd and not those who have only been informed by the holomedia and so have only the knowledge and opinion of same.
Alsakan promises all possible aid to help anyone suffering in this crisis.

| I just dug out the holotape from the archive. It's five centuries around and from the time when the Sith occasionally used nuclear bombs as terror weapons. Now this was not a nuclear weapon but the waste in the atmosphere resembles fallout. I suggest Lorrdian locals download the holopamphlets accompanying these holos and follow the advice there. It's old and it's antiquated and may seem farcical, but simple measures really are important, everyone must be responsible for their own survival and those around them and only by being cautious and taking every procedure seriously is a citizen doing so.
The picture is old, the explanations antiquated, but the advice is sound if you lack specifically designed equipment.
I highly suggest people take basic measures to ensure their survival and this provides a basic guide. The Lorrdian Government and disaster relief will no doubt update citizens regularly.

| Gentlebeings, gentlebeings, the situation is under control.
To put to rest any rumors, yes, Lorrd suffered a cowardly hit-and-run attack from an unknown source, though backed by Trandoshan-marked dropships. All pertinent information on the attack itself has been turned over to the Judicial Forces for processing.
In regards to the alpha particles being dumped into our atmosphere, this, too, is true, unfortunately. While I understand there may be quite a few worries in regards to this from the Senate, rest assured that we are taking all precautionary measures. While the dump itself was over no populated centers, civilian deaths and damage to a factory district did result from a concussion missile blast, launched by the raiders, at one of our smaller towns.
Immediate cleanup and hazard protection, including decontamination facilities, are already being seen to. Senator Cynum, your offer is greatly appreciated, but as of this moment, we do not require aid from outside Lorrd. If anything, this has given our research facilities on Lorrd II a chance to go into overtime mode. House Stark and Lorrd Engineering have promised us a prototype ship in the next few weeks that will be designed to rectify this terrible issue.
In the meantime, I appreciate the concern over what has occurred, but I ask that it not tie up Senate business for too long.

| Well, I'm convinced, Senators.
Lorrd is a small world, population-wise, with all things considered. No offense, Senator Lekpin, but it's true.
If they say they're good, then they're good in my book. On to other issues, Senators.

| As long as you're sure, Senator Lekpin?
If need be, Baltimn, while not able to offer as much as the Trade Federation and its affiliates, is willing to send aid, too. Nobody wants to see anyone in dire straits, and I charge each and every being here to make sure the perpetrators of this dastardly act are brought to justice.
Jeph Stomwell Senator, Baltimn

| While I do not want to push the issue, at your request Senator Lekpin, I would just like to let you know that Chandrila also offers aide should it become necessary. Please do not hesitate to contact my offices.
