Ana had taken Jackson with her to Naboo for the duration of her several month trip.  Of course, Alyn had come, but he had to work, so they both understood his coming and going.  She was used to it, to be honest.  They both had jobs, important in one way or another, that had to be done.  Thankfully, Ana's was easier than she anticipated, and she had help from one of the most unexpected people she could imagine.

A month before their trip home, Ana had been working in her makeshift office in the Ilyone manor.  Jackson had done his school lessons, played in the garden, and was generally well behaved.  It surprised her to hear him talking to someone, though she only heard his small voice.  For a seven year old, he was very intelligent, though she always felt that children had a more solid grip on life and the world than most adults.

"Miss Lana." His little voice spoke clearly.  "My Dad is gone a lot too."  Jackson didn't sound sad or resentful about it.  "Doesn't mean yours doesn't love you any less.  He's just really important.  And you're really important.  We're all really, really important and we all have something we're meant to do.  Which is why my mom is here...to help your dad."  Ana just stood outside of the door and listened quietly for several moments as the young, embattled Princess responded to Jackson.

"I'm not important, kid.  Just a poster child to get him more votes.  I'm just what keeps him popular."  Jackson shook his head and patted her hand with his.

"I don't think that's true.  That's not how dads are." He responded.

In the weeks following, Ana had noticed that Jackson spent an inordinate amount of the time with the Princess.  And moreover, Ana noticed a change in the Princess.  She stayed home, didn't stay out to all hours, started volunteering at the girls school again, started painting again; all the things Antar Ilyone had said she once loved to do.  As it turned out, the girl just needed to know that someone cared, and that someone needed her, and Ana's son helped her see that; and in turn, helped her find herself and her relationship with her father again.

It had been hard on Jackson to leave, but he was more excited to be home than anything, with the promise that the Ilyone's would visit some time, or that the Stark's would end up on Naboo in the not too distant future.  When the ship was cleared an landed on Lorrd, Jackson was the first down the ramp and tore into the castle like a bat out of hell.  Ana was slower behind him, of course, but kept him in her line of sight until he skidded around a corner and took out a vase on one of the hall tables.  "Jackson Stark!  You're like a rancor in a china shop!"  She was trying not to laugh, as she'd hated that vase anyway.  "He's probably in his office...there is less art down that corridor."  Ana would instruct, as the Stark's only child hung a sharp left and went in that direction.

Indeed, Stark had been busy, quite busy. During their time on Naboo, there had been much to do and take care of, many designs drawn up and many tissues to consider; not the least of which was the current trade issue with Argazda. Still, there was always time for local issues. Stark had arrived a week before his family had, touring the Kinyov Province and generating local goodwill and support, listening to this problem and that and then taking the matters higher. With things relatively quiet in the galactic community elsewhere, it had been time for the Ruling Houses of Lorrd to meet and deal with a few issues.

The Garths had been raking in profit hand-over-fist, even with Tommen Garth imprisoned; his son had taken to the family business with more than a little success and only a little less hate for Alyn Stark, which was good, at the minimum. The Ruling Houses, and Parliament, had decided to cut taxes by two percent, an item that gained them immediate popularity without doing any real damage to their revenue.

So, with a better feeling under his belt, Stark had retired to his offices and lost himself in his company's work, which is where Jackson found him. "Well hey there son!" Stark said, getting out of his chair and picking the boy up when Jackson came tearing into the room to greet his father. "I'm certainly glad you had so much fun on Naboo! Let's go track down your mom." So, holding Jackson, Stark departed the office to go seek out his wife, who was coming down the corridor towards them. "Ana, darling! Welcome home! The place has been too quiet without you two here."

Ana smiled slightly when she saw them together, and it instantly made her feel a little better.  But, she was still tired, obviously so.  Once she was close enough, Ana stopped and kissed Alyn on his cheek before she turned her attention to Jackson.  "Sweetheart, why don't you go find Mrs. Miteya and see if she has some cupcakes or something.  It'll still be a little while before dinner."  She smiled and helped him to hop out of Alyn's arms and she waited for him to run off.

"Are things alright here?  With your company and Lorrd, of course?"  Ana finally asked a few moments later.  She had something to tell him, but it would wait until they had caught up a little.  It had been a few weeks since they had been together, not that they hadn't spoken every day.  Despite how busy the both of them were, that was one thing that Ana was quite careful not to forget to do.

"Our little Man loved Naboo, and may have become a bit enamored with a certain Princess."  She said, before she gave him a small smile. "Actually, he was quite helpful in that regard. The perspective of a child, it seems, can be...enlightening in certain cases."

"Oh, there have been a few difficulties," Stark said lightly. "Nothing I haven't been able to overcome, however. Lorrd is Lorrd, as always. The people are recovering from the polluted atmosphere, especially with the help the Chancellor gave to us. Well, prior to his becoming Chancellor. As for the company? I have a feeling we should branch out into something new. I'm just not quite sure yet. I've been looking into the biomedical market and I've been considering certain options. Still, it might just be time to put away the lines building weapons and turn the factories to something more useful."

He smiled at hearing of the fun Jackson had had on Naboo. "Enamored already, eh? No doubt he charmed her in the extreme! At least he was helpful to you. Which leaves us all at home in the first time that feels like... well, the first time in forever, nearly. I am certainly glad you're back though! We have so much to discuss!"

"I certainly have no intention on leaving any time soon, that is for sure.  I hate living out of a suitcase.  To be honest, the only time I can remember enjoying traveling was with you on one of your plural yachts."  She smiled at her own joke, an inside joke between the pair since their first date.  "And the ship at least has everything I need..."  Ana added softly.  She did remember their last trip fondly, but they had not had many.

"In fact, I was thinking that it might be time for me to take some time off.  You know....I could help you with some things if you needed it.  Biomedical....whatsits and whozits...and PR.  I'm really good at PR.  Or some charity work...or something.  I just....need a break from fixing other peoples problems.  The Princess wasn't as bad as I thought, but I would like a change of pace for a while.  What do you think?"  Ana asked as she slid her arms around his waist.  It had been a while since they had been in the same room together, so the affection surely would not be unwelcome.
