At 1400 in the afternoon, the respective parties and the approved audience for the trial was allowed into the court room. He issued a media ban for the court room itself a mere two hours early, after the quickly ensuing frenzy that occurred upon the announcement that Stark was going to trial. He had been put back into binders and placed into a holding cell within the Courts Building. They were within one of the four secondary spires of the building, the hallway outside circling the room and providing an amazing view. Both the prosecution and defense were given a room at opposite sides of the spire, where they could meet privately. A temporary office for his self backed the court room, and all three had window views, and all blocking off a quarter of the tower. The other quarter was an area where media gathered, what little could, or rather, what little was allowed by the Judicials, and a single turbolift. Stark was brought up from this turbolift, exposing him to media before he was brought into the court room under guard, ten minutes before.

Once both the prosecutor and defense were seated, and all individuals, especially Ms. Styles and Mr. Kruus, were accounted for, he, now in his Judiciary robes, banged the gavel at his bench and called the room to order. ""This is case number 24961 GR 1-138, Galactic Republic versus Alyn Stark. The Honorable Justice Kalek Hanne presiding. The defendant is charged with Crimes Against Sentience, Criminal Breach of the Senex-Juvex Trade Embargo, Illegal Trafficking in Arms and War Material, Aiding and Abetting Slavery, Laundering, War Profiteering, and Criminal Negligence. In a preliminary hearing, Mr. Stark and his counsel pleaded no contest to Illegal Trafficking in Arms and War Material, innocent on all other charges, and rejected the plea bargain offered by the prosecution," announced the Bailiff.

Once the formalities were out of the way, he spoke. "Good afternoon. At this time, I allow the prosecution to make its opening statement."
