| " Spawned in the darkest pits of the universe, the dark born Clan Kerubiel are a curse upon all species of the galaxy, serving themselves when uncalled by their Sith or yet Darker Masters. For untold thousands of years they have preyed upon us, stealing forth from the shadows and dark places on their raids of terror and violence; massacring or capturing all whose paths they cross. That they are utterly evil and inhuman is without question." Iulio Rorik, Warnings of the Maledictions of the Galaxy Vol 2 (Published 4,000 ABY, from a copy held in the Jedi Temple) A unpainted ship slid out of the unpainted black void at the Duro freighter hyperspace buoy well with a flash, it had no transponder and no conventional comms arrays visible, so unable to respons to comms, but on the plus side, no guns prominent either. Sensors would have picked it up a few moments ahead of it's strike. It headed toward the planet's surface at a cruising speed. Scans would reveal no shielding, but that the design was unseen hitherto at Duro. "What the heck is this?" a Duro Traffic controller at Jivv Space City (the closest to this Hyperspace point and and apparently where the ship was heading) might think as it just headed toward the planet, if he referred it quickly to the Database it would be seen to be a freighter type seen once before in the Galaxy. It was logged an unknown alien race from beyond the known Galaxy logged by a Republic Research Sensor Array at the Planet Terminus (known for the strange extra-galactic ships to frequent it). ( Enlarged View) Not at a ramming speed so somehow being nonthreatening in its glide, it's engines power unknown but not giving the appearance of being at a high sped., appearing like a merchant ship, unshielded. It was ten minutes out at 20 MGLT heading for the Space City's main dock. It wouldn't be responding to hails but it wasn't shielded and no arms were visible. It's communication lights flashed at the Space City in unison, using an extremely ancient code unused on modern ships and barely mentioned in History of Astrogation classes at Merchant Officer Colleges. A . indicated one light and a - two. / Indicated a one second pause. After all this was busy Duros.. a couple more were detected near Arrays at Jivv's own hyperspace beacon. Two vessels of bulk-freighter mass but no more could be discerned until they approached. No doubt Jivv's Traffic Controller would have up-chained everything he had to the Duros Security Forces immediately. Kerubiel was aboard a starship. Hand in chin as he inhaled a burning herb from a thin metallic tube which crinkled and burned as it was inhaled. Its effects were strong but as a habitual user Kerubiel took pleasure in the focus he felt increase. Next to him stood his blazing skull like helmet on a stand next to his seat at the rear of the bridge. No Kerubiel sat with men behind him like more trusting peoples did. His panoply of weapons adorned the sides of his chair's alcove. The rest of the ten man bridge crew had their helmets fixed into position as was combat procedure (in case of decompression) as they approached this very juicy target. "Oh how I want prisoners" he thought. Down on the torture decks they had only a dozen prisoners left from the last freighter they raided, freed slaves... they'd actually thanked him for freeing them, but he had freed them. Freed them from the prisons that were their skin and doused them in saline solution before allowing his professional torturers to do more elegant work for the entertainment of the crew and those back at the palace. Two children had been made to fight to the death that morning with each wheilding his father's spinal cord as a weapon. That had been an amusement true enough. Well at any rate he needed to focus on matters at hand not savouring memories or ecstacies to come. " Prepare the weapons, full charge and have the generators ready. Strike craft ready for assault too. And prepare to broadcast our message to these Duros on arrival, they are said to be brave, lets see how they react."

| Outside of the orbits of the space cities and shipyards around Duro, two Invincible-class Dreadnaught Heavy Cruisers, each escorted by CR70 Corvettes, circled the planet in opposing orbits. It was their typical defense posture, and today was no exception. Upon the craft's appearance, and its identification as an unknown craft, the nearest Dreadnaught, the Kadlo, broke from formation and assumed an intercept course. Captain Zhug, the commanding officer of the ship, turned to his comms officer. "Open ship-to-ship comms, full spectrum broadcast. Passive challenge and ID," he ordered. The female Duros nodded, and then broadcasted to the ship.
"Attention, unknown vessel. This is the Dreadnaught Kadlo. Identify yourself," was the simple message sent. While this was done, however, the ship went to yellow alert, and battlestions were assumed. Meanwhile, on the other side of the planet, the Dassid, the other Dreadnaught of the Duro Defense Force, broke from its formation and began to arc over the world towards the location of the unidentified ship. In addition, the shipyards put two of its four squadrons of fighters on alert.

| The ships would continue on a pre-programmed course toward the space city's main dock. Still it's weapons powered down, still it's approach was inexorable. As they had dithered the gap had closed between the inbound ship and the space city. The timer was getting shorter now, the minutes ticking down and still no attempt to intercept the silent spacrcraft. If not intercepted they would be within the outer dock limits in seconds. One would if allowed to continue lodge in an outer ship repair arm, but the other would slide unmolested into the active areas of the spaceport on the gigantic space city. Since the Dreadnaughts were so slow, there was no hope of them alone (going at less than 13MGLT) intercepting these un-identified craft.
Also, playing perfectly into the hands of the Kerubielites, the enemy had consolidated their craft. So when the time came to launch the proper strike, the blunderingly slow Dreadnaughts would be blundering after seemingly lifeless freighters, opening up other areas for their attack. Kerubiel pondered, studying his forces ready to jump in..
To attack the Space City.. or Truly Humiliate these weaklings and deprive them of their fleet. He decided he could do both and opened his communicator to the fleet. "Evisceration Wing, prepare to jump to Jivv Space City's environ, after the detonations register. Despoiler Wing, engage with intercepting Dreadnaught and it's escort, maim them." This was going to be a turkey-shoot for the fast ships able to evade the larger vessels and constantly sting them. "Decimation Wing come in hard and fast, the calculation will be fine but exit coming to a halt inside their field enclosure radius as the fireships detonate (a moment before the detonations), your target is Rrudobar Space City, one of the smallest but more vulnerable cities, distant from a Dreadnaught. Nightmare Wing likewise on Vydat Star Dock."
All that they were awaiting was the Robotic controls of the converted Ramships to disable coolant systems on all their onboard ionization generators once they registered within Jivv Space City. They'd make quite a big bang, enough to shake the space city but not destroy it, but cause extensive damage in the docks and leave the city in a cloud of debris.
A third wave, of fast transport ships awaited their orders. When they came they would be to follow selected attacks and collect any easily scooped loot from the planned chaos.

| ((Apologies for the short post, but I figured this has delayed long enough and I really didn't have much to do here.))
The Kadlo and Dassid continued on their approaches to the large unknown craft. The craft which had also jumped in, remained unrecognized by the Duros, whom were all preoccupied by the unidentified craft. They would be completely unaware of the coming attack.

| The two unknown craft exploded upon striking the docks of Jivv Space City. Their relatively primitive fusion engines simply going up in a catastrophic inferno that would be reminiscent of the explosions of primitive weapons in the pre-hyperspace age, barbaric detonations but ones which fortunately were nothing like as dirty as such ancient crude devices. The first of the two freighters would have tangled inside a docking arm and so mostly just would have damaged some tethered cargo pods, the cargo arm and a massive gouge in the space-city's construction. The second detonating further inside was more astonishing. Shaking the Space City even more brutally than the first and causing the likely annihilation of the vast majority of warehouses, docks and so on, but more tellingly possibly severing the power to it's Ion drive, which could lead to a lethal de-orbiting of the city which housed billions.
The first of the Kerubielite attack ships changed their course of attack at a last minute whim of their commander and each appeared at 66% effective turbolaser range behind both the Kadlo and Dassid. Each would begin to empty their massive Concussion missile magazines upon the relatively offensively blind rear of these arguably defenseless old vessels, matching speed and course with each initially, being orders of magnitude faster than the Invincible-class (since they were equivalent to the later MC-40). Also two Turbolaser Turrets and Two Ion Cannon turrets on the prow of each would open up giving the concentrated thump-click-click-thump of launching Concussion missiles from the two launchers audible inside these elegantly hand crafted combat ships with the humm and shriek of their weapons batteries. Truly named was the Eviscerator-class "Slaughter Frigate" and truly did they give a brutal bombardment, so precisely targeted on such a well known design in its weakest angle, it could only be minutes before the ships would be hulks. With the Invincible-class vessels being less than 1/6th the speed of the Keubielite there was little they could hope to do to get out of the situation.
Each of them would direct four Ion Cannon turrets fire and three turbolaser turrets fire per Corellian CR-70. The ships would be cruel with their use of their Heavy Tractor beams likewise, each having more than enough to designate one to a CR-70 they would prevent the tiny corvettes nimbleness upon which they relied in battle.
While this went on, the Kerubielite Strike fighters (Sienar variant Toscan 8Qs stats wise) would attack each Duros group in squadrons of nine, enfilading the corvettes and pinning them for Turbolaser fire. Each squadron would be split into three fighters and would zip and zim around the already under fire Corvette escorts targeting each with intense salvoes from the 2 Ion Cannons aboard each if the "Nightmare" strikefighters who would also be using their sensors in an active manner to scan for the approach or launch of any counter-assault squadrons. Each craft's Quadlaser turret tracked around warily and they would have five minutes notice before the Duros craft from the planet or any nearby space city could reach them, which would allow them to not only intercept, but summon the squadrons of interceptors (A-6 equivalents) aboard the Eviscerator class ships ready positions in the hangars.
These vessels had never been sighted in Republic space and were rumours on worlds like the rumours spoke of, on all local non-hypercomm frequencies and all civilian hypercomm frequencies on Duros and the surrounding space cities, the two craft would be broadcasting the hellish screams they'd pre-recorded centuries ago. Causing fear and chaos, as garbled news of the Jivv City attack spread via local comms and rumours of the fleet destroyed or trapped would also abound. Likely hypercomm messages would be sent out on many different frequencies signalling distress. Even so, the attack had been planned comprehensively and all Sensor scans double checked - the nearest vessels would be more than thirty four minutes away (OOC: Note to Lim). In fifteen the Duros Navy could be a burning wreckage yard, they were simply trapped by a faster, more manoeuvrable, better armed force.
Kerubiel would laugh at the attack. As he watched his own Eviscerator-class' main warhead launchers strike impact after impact.
Attacks such as these were actually never known to have occurred within Republic space and the "Horror Ships" of the deep fringes of the Outer Rim and the Unknown regions had been called myths and legends. No doubt intelligence reports had filed them away with the Rumours of other Ghost ships. But these ships were of a design and manufacture simply unrecognisable to the Duros... Lacking knowledge of these craft and their abilities, even coming up with a counter-strategy couldn't be effected due to lack of data. The rear shields would surely be down within scant minutes and the Corvettes couldn't fight in such conditions, they were light craft caught in a trap, their elimination could take barely minutes more, if they attempted to flee perhaps one or two might, but the others would find themselves corralled by the Strike Fighters or Tractor beams and gunned down.
"Surrender your ships unconditionally and abandon them, and we will not destroy the escape pods, you have my word and bond that I will not slaughter your escaping crew and will leave the rest of the city ships undamaged.
Fail to comply, and we will blow up your fleet anyway within what I think your most optimistic computers are saying is seventeen minutes, this will give us plenty of time to cruise back to Jivv Space City and blast it from the skies and send it plummeting down onto your world" Kerubiel spoke over the communicator on a open channel to the Duros high command, his voice naturally modulated to make him sound even more sinister than he already did. "We know you're calling for help. Or if you aren't the Civilians are, either way we can be gone before they arrive. So trade your ships, which are already soon to be destroyed by my firepower for the lives of your Civilians and the continuation of Jivv Space City's existence. I'm not a patient man, you've a minute to signal surrender and begin to abandon ship, during which we will keep firing until we see proof the ships are being abandoned. If you don't, I hope none of you aboard your rotten old hulks have relatives on Jivv Space City"

| Hearing these reports of attack the Lucrehulk-class Battleship "Questionable Ethics" was headed up the Corellian Trade Spine after a refit at the home docks of Hoersch-Kessel Drive in it's home port of Neimoidia. Immediately upon hearing the report, Brian, the consummate figure of the dutiful Trade Defense Fleet officer and equally having a vague sense of fondness for the species from which his was descended, he ordered all stop, an about turn, and a direct full power jump for Duro rather than their initial direction of the Chasin System.
"Duros friends, this is Captain Brian Kruus of the Trade Defense Force. We've heard your pleas for help and are coming with several significant capital assets to aid your fleet. We estimate arrival in fifteen minutes." would come an all-frequencies broadcast, detectable by any civilian or military holo in the Duro system, including the raiders. Simultaneously an encrypted version was dispatched using codes familiar to both Duros and TDF staff indicating they were seeking to bluff the raiders and cause panic among them as they were doing at Duro; unfortunately even with the engines at full burn, the Questionable Ethics would be at least fifty minutes and would arrive alone when it did.
The reports coming out the Duros civilian media were so confused he could not be sure of the situation, neither could he be sure his own Battleship would be a match for these raiders as all the info they were receiving was panic and speculation from ill informed groups. Certainly though theyd been confirmed to have damaged Jivv Space city massively.
Aware he might well be sailing his ship into the jaws of death, into the mouth of hell he broadcast a message to his crew. "The Galaxy expects that every crewbeing will do his utmost." it appeared on all their text communicators as the ships computer began to prep the battleship for combat.

| (Skipping - Kerubielites have other stuff to do)
The Kerubielite Assault Frigates fire was telling. Of the two Invincible-class ships both quickly lost their rear shields before the Frigates followed up with heavy barrages of Turbolaser fire. Each had huge damage to their ancient and poorly designed engines wreaked resulting in both being crippled hulks, with scatter turbolaser fire across the vessels hulls slicing viciously into upper parts of the hulls, blasting components apart. Both were now crippled hulks spinning in space, one, the Kadio, suffered huge damage but fortunately avoided major internal damage aside from the destruction of its engines and crippling. The second, the Dassid was left in a much worse state, a crippled burning hulk with power surges causing sporadic explosions up and down it's hull.
The CR-70s suffered much worse from the combined Strike Fighter and Capital Bombardment, all but two were destroyed as they failed to evade the Kerubielite fire, as soon as their shields came down, they were blasted apart by Turbolaser blasts to sever them in half. The two remaining vessels were hit by explosions as their shields dropped and had the "fortune" to spin powerless away from the engagement, both taking place close to the Dassid where the burning hulk disrupted sensor tracking and caused these two crippled ships to spin away being thought to be debris in the heat of battle.
"Duros being-things. We've devastated your fleet. Our extensive amusment at your humiliation is considered compensation sufficient to pay for us to not slaughter your remnant. A caution though, it should not be doubted, Dear Beings... we will return if we see your egos rise again. Blame your war leaders if you will, but I blame your race, an inferior, cowardly species who pretend to be great adventurers but cannot even fight off mere raiders. I laugh at you all with scorn" came the message as the Assault ships and Strike Fighters headed out happily.
The Kerubielite fleet then turned about and zipped past Jivv Space city, using their Tractor Beams to drag onboard anything visible of significant value (art, artisan vessels, and bank vaults etc) before heading out toward their planned jump point. Their hyperdrives powered to jump, with no Duros pursuit
