| While the proton torpedoes were ineffective, they served to keep the gunners onboard the patrol boats occupied. Unfortunately for the Lorrdians, the cluster of munitions dropped worked much in the same fashion, as the two squadrons were forces to break off pursuit and destroy the warheads with cannon fire, allowing the trio of ships ample time to make it to the clear, providing they were out of range of the platform's laser cannons, which would certainly give them a bad day if they came close enough to engage the civilian vessels.
In the last moments until they were clear to jump to hyperspace, the Class 1000 would continue unleashing ion cannon blasts, but added to it the advent of all turbolaser cannons opening fire, attempting to destroy the solitary Dragonboat which had suffered more damage.
The problem with the canisters that may or may not contain children, but which could easily be traps, was the issue of the jammers within. Naturally, had they been able to see inside, Lorrd Control could have verified the children, as well as the explosives of course. With the hit and run nature of the attackers, though, the odds of the canisters being little more than attacking warheads, or possibly containing disguised battle droids. The consideration was given to consider destroying the capsules, but held off on for the time being; there was still time before the capsules entered the atmosphere.

| The communicators were filled with frightened children. They would answer about their situation if asked repeatedly and calmly. They would be terrified though and not awfully useful. Theyd be screaming on open frequencies many nearby ships and people on the ground would hear, incoherently about missiles and radiation and feeling sick and aliens hurting them etc.
The dragonboat as its shield went lost two more cargo pods smashed to infinity but still succesfully jumped. The raid had been without casualties. Now turning those Cronau radiation detectors around, if they picked up other sorts... the tendrils of alpha particles spreading across the planets atmosphere as the winds carried them might be a matter for concern.

| Due to the lack of useful nature of the children's statuses, and due to the continued lack of information able to be gleaned. Range of a small, handheld communicator would be limited, though, and it was highly unlikely that anyone outside fifty kilometers would be knowledgeable. With the attackers departed, the immediate threat was dealt with, but the thought was brought up that it could be droid vocabulators with level two or three intelligence could be making the call. As such, there was no definitive way of telling whether it was a trick or ruse. As such, the order was given, heavy-hearted, for one of the HLAF-500s to fire on a canister. As the canisters contained a proton torpedo, the explosive force was made quite obvious from the first detonation.
It stood to reason that all the capsules were likewise trapped and, as such, destroyed for safety in short order. With the size of the capsules and the explosive force of a proton torpedo, there would be very little, if anything, left to prove decisive one way or another. The radiation sensors, however, were not yet noticed, but would soon be.
