Ana kissed Alyn briefly before she vanished from his office to let him finish his work for the day.

She took her time changing into something more casual; dark-washed skinny jeans, black boots, and a blousy black silk top.  Ana had pulled her chestnut locks into a ponytail and secured it with a band, and put in a pair of simple Corellian diamond stud earrings.  And she had gone to get Jackson, dismissed his nanny and tutor for the day and was spending time with the child in the play room.

Jackson's playroom was the best, of course; a jungle theme complete with murals on the walls and stuffed animals galore.  There was even an indoor jungle gym and a swing for him to play on if he wished.  Ana sat on the step of the jungle gym while Jackson described, in great detail, everything he had done over the few days she had been gone.  He had pulled out drawings he did for her, and coloring pages, and read a few lines from one of his books.  She let him take his time and took each drawing he gave her, which she would save (as she did with them all).

"I tell you what, Jackson, let's go find daddy.  He said he was going to spend the afternoon with us...something fun.  Maybe the zoo?"  Jackson's eyes lit up and he ran to put his book away and get his shoes on.  Ana put the drawings away and picked up a few things in the play room before she took Jackson's hand and walked down the corridors back towards Alyn's office.

Stark had tided up his office and closed down his datapad. A change of clothing into something more suitable was accomplished as well: a white, sleeveless button-up shirt with a dark grey duster, black slacks and high boots. Comfortable, workable and it allowed for a concealed holster to be worn under the arm. A matter of habit, more than anything, but with certain political aspects of Lorrd, one could never be too safe. Fortunately, it was considered to be a major faux pas to target members of a House's family outside the head, at least for assassination. Of course, accidents had happened over the years.

On their way back to his office, Stark met Ana and Jackson at the door. Grinning down at his son, he swept the boy up, spun him around and hugged him. "Good to see you and your mother all ready to go." Looking up at Ana, Stark laughed. "While we're on the way, I wanted to speak to you about Jackson's college fund and the money I had set aside from him. I hope you won't be too upset, but I pulled it out of the account we'd had. I figured it might be better to keep it in aurodium, safe and sealed away, rather than in the credit system. I didn't pull all of it out," he amended hastily, "Just half."

Ana watched Alyn with Jackson very carefully.  What Alyn might not have known, was the depth of Jackson's adoration for his father.  He wanted to be 'just like daddy', as he had told Ana many times while he played with toy ships, or built his own ships out of interlocking blocks.  When Alyn would go out to look at new ships, or had a new design, she knew how badly Jackson would have loved to go with him, but it was really no place for a child of his age.  Not yet, anyway.  Seeing the two of them together, just like they were right then, made her come to a decision.  The King of Naboo would be her last client for a while.

"I am not sure why you think I would be upset.  Aside from the fact that you didn't consult me first."  She said as she dropped down to Jackson's level to help him put on his jacket.  "I trust your decisions, Alyn.  If you think that what you did is best, then I agree with you."  Ana smiled slightly and looked to their son.  If it hadn't been obvious to Alyn in the four years they had been married, she did not get angry over small things like that, though she would have preferred to at least have had a conversation about it first.  It was probably her fault, anyway, since she had been gone and it seemed like it was perhaps a spor of the moment decision on his part.

"So Jackson, where do you want to go today?  The zoo or the botanical gardens?"  Something in her knew he would choose the zoo.  He liked the animals a great deal, and would have likely spent hours watching the Nexxu or sitting in front of the aquarium.  "Unless daddy has a better idea...."  She trailed off and glanced to Alyn for a moment.

Looking suitably chastened, Stark coughed slightly, then cleared his throat. "Well, I should have brought it up to you; it sort of slipped my mind. I know I'm not always the best at mentioning certain things in a timely manner." Grinning down at Jackson, Stark ruffled the boy's hair lightly, eliciting a grin from his son. "If I'm guessing right, I think the zoo would be an excellent idea for today. I hear they added an acklay recently. They're pretty big, and not the most friendly, but once you see one, it's quite the experience. Mind you, I'd never want to see one outside a cage." Stark laughed and glanced back up to his wife.

"The zoo, and then perhaps lunch out afterwards? I'll ask Tarin to make the reservations at that cafe you like so much." Stark knew that Jackson enjoyed the Mandalorian's odd company. Instead of calling him 'Mr. Mako' as Stark had tried to teach, Jackson ended up calling him 'Mr. Mando,' which seemed to amuse the mercenary. From time to time, Stark overheard Tarin teaching Jackson fragments of Mando'a. Despite the traditional Lorrdian upbringing, Stark didn't think it would hurt the boy to learn some things from other cultures at an early age, much as Stark himself had.

Jackson would indeed choose the zoo.  "That sounds fine, Alyn." She responded, as she reached for the comm unit that was tucked into the back pocket of her jeans. Ana checked the message quickly, and then put the device away.  Normally, she never even bothered with it when she was spending precious time with her family, but she was waiting to hear about travel to Naboo being arranged. It would be, as the communication said, early in the following week.

"An Acklay....that sounds interesting. And dangerous." Ana had a rather irrational fear of bugs, and not much else, and an acklay looked like just a giant insect.  Of course, Alyn knew, as he had valiantly slain many spiders on her behalf over the years. He was, truly, her hero, in more ways than just one, of course.

"Sweet pea....run ahead and find Tarin and see if he will help you into your seat. We'll be right behind you." Jackson was more than delighted to run ahead to find the Mandalorian, and so he did. She would turn her attention fully to Alyn once Jackson was out of hearing distance.

"I'm afraid I am going to have to leave for Naboo a good deal sooner than I thought. I need to be there by the first of the week, at the latest. There have been some....new developments and I am rather needed."  Ana looked to Jackson, who had found Tarin and was playing some sort of standoff game in the corridor with the man. It seemed, at times, that she was not needed here as much as she would have liked, but that was her own fault even though she did not realize it. "Will you be alright...just you and Jackson again?"

While Jackson ran off to find the mercenary, Stark looked over to Ana and chuckled. "Rather interesting. Very dangerous. Thankfully, the zoo is an expert at keeping dangerous animals safely behind observation fields. I don't believe there has been an incident of an animal getting out in over three hundred years or so. I doubt we should be overly concerned about it." Thinking of the spiders he had killed for her brought a smile to his face. The acklay was certainly not likely to be her own favorite animal, but perhaps Jackson would be enthralled with it.

"New developments on Naboo? I can't imagine what the issues might be. Naboo is more or less peaceful, once you look past their Gungans. Angry little water-dwellers, constantly upset with the Naboo. There was that angry fellow, Boss... Boss Nasos? Well, Boss Somebody-or-other, who was complaining about in the Senate, trying to force some kind of deal. Well, I don't keep track of it. Either way, I can understand if work is pulling you away. However..." Stark paused, thinking. "Perhaps you wouldn't mind if Jackson and I accompanied you on this trip? It'd do him good to get out and explore more, and I can always bring my design pad with me, so I can continue my company work. The Kinyov Province and Lorrd can certainly get by without me for a short time."

Ana was still gazing off down the hall, almost lost in her own thoughts for a moment before she finally heard Alyn speak. "I'm not concerned. I know that it's perfectly safe. And he will enjoy it, thoroughly, I am sure." She was positive that Jackson would love going to the zoo. Jackson would learn a great deal, she was sure of that. Ana caught the smirk on Alyn's face just at the moment it happened. "Tell me you're not thinking of that time, Alyn Stark! The time you came running because I was screaming bloody murder and you thought someone had gotten in the castle? And instead, you found me standing on the bed, barefoot, wearing just one of your dress shirts...and a spider the size of a land speeder was on the floor." She actually smiled. "I had never seen you laugh so hard." While the moment had been terrifying, to her, it was quite funny to think about now.

"Anyway, yes, new developments on Naboo." Ana debated for a moment on whether or not to tell him. No contracts had been signed, and it would not be long before the galaxy knew. "The King is very ill, dying, actually. He's named his nephew heir, and the nephew wants me to come to help smooth the transition.  And deal with his daughter, apparently."  She said smoothly. "I think...that he will be the last client for a while." Ana had said that about the last one, also.

When he asked about joining her, she paused. "I would love that, actually. Alyn, are you sure?" He was sometimes more of a workaholic than she was. While it wouldn't be a real vacation, they could at least be together instead of across the galaxy, and that sounded wonderful. "Jackson would love it too."

"Well, spiders can certainly be a rather large annoyance," Stark conceded, but if you ever need one dealt with, I'll certainly be ready with my shoe." Chuckling, he shook his head, then grew serious as she mentioned Naboo. "That's an ill-timed event, the King dying. Is there some cure for him, perhaps? I know in a month or two, there is a large effort going forth from the Kanz Sector... well, keep it quiet, of course, but there's a small planet out beyond Republic borders that offers a plant, heralded as a miracle cure from the few brave enough to harvest it and bring it back. Small quantities, but it's called bota. Perhaps it can cure what ails the King." Stark shrugged, lacking more knowledge on the plant as of yet.

"Deal with his daughter, hm?" Stark raised an eyebrow in amusement. "Sounds like you need to straighten her out. As for traveling, I'd be perfectly fine. There's a few things that will need to be seen to, but with Tarin remaining behind, I'll just pluck out one of the other guards to come along with."

"Well he is elderly, so I am not sure there is a cure for that."  She commented as she slid her jacket on.  "Even a miracle plant, or whatever this thing is.  Although I will be sure to mention it to Mr. Ilyone.  It might be worth looking into."  Ana straightened her hair with her fingertips briefly.  "And yes...his daughter went missing some years ago, came back, and she's a tabloid nightmare now.  I am not exactly sure how to turn a party girl into a princess."  She said as she looked back down the hallway to see where Jackson had gotten to.  He was still with Tarin, and somehow had managed to weasel his way up onto the back of the Mandolorian.

"He will be so disappointed if Tarin does not come along, but I am sure he will understand since he will get that time with you."  Ana smiled some and took Alyn's hand.  "Let's go, and when we get back, I will get us all packed.  I bought you a new pink shirt just in case you decided you wanted to come along."  She said, completely teasing him, but she kept a serious expression and tone.  Ana knew his favorite colors, of course, and pink was not one of them.  Nor was it hers.

"It sounds like you have a very serious job ahead of you," Stark said thoughtfully. "Sometimes, coming from money, especially with personal issues, can turn a person into a veritable monster. There were bad ones in my family, too. Part of what caused the Stark line to split. Speaking of which, if you ever see cousin Quintus coming, turn and go the other way. I wouldn't trust that man further than I could throw him, and I wouldn't want to get close enough to life him." Stark shook his head and grunted sourly. Unpleasant family reunions? No thank you. Not in the least.

"Tarin... well, I'm sure Jackson will make the best of it. Tarin's good at what he does. Thankfully, he used to be a family man, so he's used to children. Still, I don't have anyone else who can match him for efficiency. And a pink shirt you say? Oh, how dashing I will look! Tell me, does it have lace and ruffles at the throat and cuffs?" He was quite capable of teasing her back, yes he was.
