Background:
Born to parents who dealt in smuggling, Devin was brought up on Tatooine, in relative comfort. Due to the profession his parents followed, the young boy often was able to sort through a myriad of different items from all corners of the galaxy, as well as rub shoulders with some of the less-reputable beings who frequented Tatooine's dive bars and shops. Growing up with little sense of childhood fun or enjoyment, Devin showed a great aptitude for sadism at a very early age, torturing womp rats who belonged to citizens of Mos Eisley. By the age of twelve, this sadism manifested itself as outright murder as Devin began to prey upon the down-and-out in the various bars after dark. Each time, it seemed as if a sixth sense was telling him when he would be caught; an exhibition of early Force-related talents, though he did not know at the time.
His likelihood of ever getting off-world, however, would have been truly small had a certain Jedi Master traveling about not picked up on him. Recognizing an instant force ability within the child, Dalath Jeram took him up and under his wing as the first and only padawan Jeram would ever have. Culturing the young boy in the civilized life of Coruscant, Jeram also instilled a willingness to increase the sadistic nature within the lad, although keeping it very hidden.
Passing the Trials at the age of eighteen, Devin Rel'kom joined the ranks of the Jedi Knights and then vanished as abruptly at the same time as his master's death. Proficient in some forms of lightsaber combat, Devin is exceptionally proficient with Force abilities for one of his age, and they come to him more naturally than saber combat, giving him an unexpected advantage in that arena.
