"Orbital vector nine set. The Acquisitive is dead ahead."

The pilot's voice was calm and confident as the Blended Jade made its way around the far side of Naboo, coming on an approach vector. In his quarters, Rex nodded, though the pilot couldn't see it. He'd found it interesting, and perhaps a bit curious, that this Kruus had knowledge of Pius Dea artifacts, especially one that could link to a cathedral ship. Granted, of course, Rex's desire was to find and revitalize one of the actual Cathedral-class cathedral ships, but at this point, any find was a find. They'd be useless as warships, of course, but as a status symbol and a rallying banner for his Pius Dea followers, it meant they'd need to hide no more. The Republic, as it was, could hardly quash them for existing.

"Contact the Acquisitive and get us a landing vector. Let me know once we've settled in."

"Of course, Vicar." Opening a hailing channel to the Trade Federation vessel, the pilot paused for a moment and then transmitted. "Acquisitive, this is the Blended Jade on approach vector. Requesting landing clearance and guided tractor."

The Heavy Munitions Cruiser sat placidly in orbit around Naboo and noted the vessel approaching, having been informed by the Trade Baron they were expecting this. The officer of the watch turned to the communications officer as his console lit up. "We have an incoming transmission" he let the Comms officer know so he had time to make sure he was ready.

"This is the Aqwisatif, pwease identify?" spoke the comms officer as the sensor officer fed his visual readout with the class of the vessel, Citadel-class with a correct transponder to the name given. "Vector granted." said the Comms officer before clicking off his send function but leaving the channel open in case there was any further messages from the ship. A vector to be tractored into the secondary hangar was granted and the ship was conducted into the hangar.

There was no need for further communications from the Blended Jade. With the vector given, the ship followed it until the tractor beams could lock on and initiate the guided landing procedure. Once it had touched down lightly on the deck plates of the Acquisitive, the pilot informed Rex, who'd been lightly dozing in his high-backed chair. "Excellent, have my escort ready."

When the side-access ramp to the Blended Jade's interior lowered, Gerard Rex was the first to exit, followed by a pair of armed security men that were a part of his security retinue. Once on deck, Rex would look for Kruus whom, one presumed, might be there to greet him, or might not.

The hangar had a number of B1 and other droids, both doing security roles and maintenance, as well as a pair of vulture droids striding about performing daily servo checks. He was met not by Kruus but by a chromium plated 3-PO unit "Greetings, I am KC-19. I am going to have to remind you that only Trade Federation Employees and Law Enforcement Officials on official business may bear arms aboard Trade Federation vessels. As per TF Directive 42180-B. I apologize for any inconvenience but I must ask weapons to be left aboard your ship. I apologize for any inconvenience caused to you. If you have concerns of safety please be aware that your safety is guaranteed by our extensive arrangements aboard and that no harm will come to you."

If they complied they would be lead through a concealed arch scanner that would scan for sensor resistant materials, weapons or anything else threatening or unusual and would alert security if there was. If they did not reply the blast door from the hangar would remain closed to them. After all, this was a commerce ship in a time of peace from a group much terrorized by pirates, security precautions would be tight, but, no doubt the Naboo had seen the non Trade-Fed transponder shuttle fly into the hangar and would notice if it did not leave and presumably raise queries. It was not as if Kruus was the type inclined toward such brash actions as harming invited guests and certainly would not kill them in such an indiscrete manner if he were. Kruus was a being, while amoral in the extreme, imbued with a certain crooked sense of fair play and honour and his personal "ethical code" would be offended by the bad manners of harming a guest.

If they did comply, and if they passed the scan (if not, a forcefield trap would activate around the area all three stood and the auto-security systems would summon B1 Security Teams to contain the situation), they'd be conducted into a conference room with a beautiful view of Naboo adjacent to Senator Kruus' office. The protocol droid would cock her head and gesture for them to sit. "Please sit, may I procure you refreshments of any type? Chief Brand Officer Kruus will be with you momentarily. If you have any other needs or wants please inform me and I will be happy to cater for them.

Rex glanced with amusement at the droid welcoming committee before glancing back at the pair of security men. "Gentlemen, I have many enemies but I doubt Luneray Kruus and the Trade Federation are among them. Take some time off and relax, but take this with you." From under his cape, he produced an S-5 heavy blaster and handed it to the nearest guard, who accepted it. Both men saluted, about-faced and returned to the Blended Jade. From there, Rex would pass any scan for weapons, for he had none, or at least none overtly. Coincidentally was another matter. One could argue that the large, polished and carefully set rainbow gems in the back of his gloves could be considered a form of 'unarmed' weapons; Rex would agree on some counts; he'd broken more than one jaw with a casual backhand, but he also chalked it up to his extreme musculature. Either way, he left the gloves on as they were part of his accoutrements and he did not like to touch people or most things bare-handed.

When he was finally settled in the conference room, he responded to the droid's query with a small shake of his head. "A kind offer, but no thank you. I partook of refreshment before I contacted the Chief Brand Officer." And so he awaited Kruus at the Neimoidian's pleasure.

Droid welcoming committees were the Neimoidian custom even for distinguished Ambassadors of the Supreme Chancellor arriving on Judicial Force ships. The gloves wouldn't be considered a weapon and the Neimoidians, respecting an honoured associate of a valued ally from the Commerce Guild. Him carrying such an offensive weapon was noted as out of the ordinary though, gentlemen rarely carried such, he had this relayed to his terminal as the men went to sit down.. a weapon carried by the Royal Naboo Insurrectionists during the invasion... "A studied insult perhaps?" he thought to himself.. The man was an unlikely candidate for a Guild being with such musculature, but he supposed humans did often come in strange shapes and sizes and he never saw fit to comment.

The Protocol Droid moved to the corner of the room, remaining stationary by a small multi-beverage dispenser in case called upon by any of the parties present. Below Gerard the world of Naboo swum dreamily, the ship keeping pace with the day side as it orbited lazily. Around a minute after the arrival of Rex swept in Luneray Kruus, the Chief Brand Officer of the Board of the Trade Federation, Trade Baron appointed by the Trade Monarch himself, tenured
Member of the Directorate of the Trade Federation and universally acclaimed Polymath with more Honorary Doctorates than you could shake a gaffi stick at, he was dressed in his unusually simply cut but well tailored and stitched robe and a simple flat topped mitre, eschewing the extremes of Neimoidian fashion. He had with him a small reference pad with some notes and set it down opposite Rex's seat.

He was also profoundly well versed in human body language and so approached Rex around his side of the table "Gewwad Wex I pwesume?" he said offering the man his hand to shake confidently fixing his eyes on the visitor as he did so. "I heaw you are qwite the businessman, those pointy headed Koorivar bankers warely invest unwisewy..."

Rex carried the S-5 because it was an effective weapon; sturdy and versatile and it had class within its sleek lines. It never occurred to him that carrying it might be construed as an insult to the Trade Federation. Rex was relatively relaxed as he watched Naboo out the viewport. A ripe world that would help pioneer his trade work in this sector, providing he had some luck with Cambrist and the man's business. It would be much more efficient than starting up his own to try and compete with Cambrist; a man with an already established reputation.

Standing as Kruus entered, Rex took the proffered hand in return, shaking it briefly but firmly. "Chief Brand Officer Kruus, you presume correctly. I find that business is something of a pleasure and as such, I excel at it. However, I'm not here to bother you with business details. Not when you've come to work with the Naboo and you must focus most of your attention upon that. I've come to speak with you about your book."

"You're not a journalist?" said Kruus raising the Neimoidian equivalent to an eyebrow. "Not that I mind if you are, the book is out there in pirated form already, so I'm told so it's not as if anything in it is awfully secret. However, officially at any rate, I couldn't be seen talking about an unpublished work publicly to a journalist. However, if this is purely a matter of academic interest, and you told me that you are here with reference to a purely academic question then I would be more than happy to discuss this with you."

"You have a face I recognize, yes.." he stroked his chin considering the man before him. "You're Coruscanti? At a passing guess? And not just Coruscanti, one of the older lineages before they dallied with tarnishing their blood by interbreeding with their inferiors? Or you've perhaps had surgery? Either way you bear a passing resemblance to some of the Contispine Chancellors, especially around the chin.. this said they were certainly prodigious breeders for your species and I gather their gene footprint is rather high in the best lines." he smiled and tapped a formerly unidentified part of the desk with no symbol on it, activating a hologram projector which slid down from the roof, deployed and crackled into life. "Ships computer local database access if you would be so kind, Kruus eight seven nine four. Personal files. Academic. Recent work. Figures. Figure Eighty Three, maximum magnification. Do you see what I mean? Except he's certainly a good deal more sour than you facially, perhaps a result of just being captured I assume."

"No," Rex said wryly, "I'm afraid I'm not a journalist. I would have been too... frugal... with what I thought the news would portray. However, you are correct in that this is indeed a matter of purely academic consideration. I'm a fan of history, you might say." Rex was silent as Kruus made his assumptions and even pulled up an ancient picture of Rex's ancestor. The same, easy-going smile was on his lips throughout the entirety of Kruus' commentary.

"Well, the resemblance is certainly uncanny, one might say. However, I happen to work for the Commerce Guild and I'm afraid that religious matters and alien persecution are not on my list of things to do."
