But seems to me the wookieepedia page on Torture is extremely long and enthusiastic, slightly uncomfortable to plumb your species depth with the subject!

Oh foo, I'm sure it's not that bad. I mean, how bad can a Wookieepedia article really... JE-SUS. There are 260 citations. 260! That's more citations than the article on Anakin Skywalker, for Christ's sake. And good god, the appearances! According to this list of appearances, 150 people are tortured in the Star Wars canon. Then again, major characters are tortured in all three of the original trilogy films, so I blame George Lucas.

But why do so many children's books have torture in them? The entire Galaxy of Fear series has torture in it, except ironically for a book called "Eaten Alive." Even Star Wars: Ewoks has torture in it? Really? Yaddle's Tale? For Christ's sake.

Torture is notably absent from the prequels though, as none of the major characters care enough about anything to torture anyone. General Grievous seems the most likely prequel character to torture someone, but he doesn't have the imagination. Maybe Nute Gunray, but he's too incompetent. The other bad guys are too emotionally distant from their schemes-within-schemes to have any desire to inflict pain on their enemies.

Boss Nass probably would have tortured Jar Jar...

... Yeah, pretty sure. Yet somehow the one character who actually deserves to be tortured (Jar Jar) isn't. We can but dream.

And there was no source on Botori except theyre humanoid ursines.

So here I am. Don't light fires in woods.

Note for Republic officials
The Botori have no written language as they lack the manual dexterity in their hands, instead using a form of writing based on smell. Thus please remember Rumbling Growl's name is inexpressable in basic but is simply him giving a rumbling growl. His name is explicitly not Rumbling Growl when speaking to him. .
