The Treaty of Protected Colonies

In short the Treaty of Protected Colonies is to be a signed pact between the Most Serene Republic of Manda, and its immediate neighbors of Dennaskar and Boranda. The full write up post to come would be a more lengthy and drawn out treaty. However for simplicity sake, the main points of the over all treaty are the points being requested. Those requests are as follows. 

  • The Worlds of Dennaskar and Boranda become the protected colonies of the Most Serene Republic of Manda
  • The Most Serene Republic of Manda is permitted to expand its influence fully on these worlds through the establishment of ports, official administration buildings, etc etc
  • Both Dennaskar and Boranda will have a majority in favor of the treaty and a majority stance with views against the Trade Federation

These main points will be expanded upon when I do the official write up. For the moment the shortened version gives the base feel as to what the Treaty is about. It would in effect, place the worlds of Dennaskar and Boranda within the sphere of influence of the Most Serene Republic of Manda. As protected colonies, they would be adherent to the laws and customs of the Most Serene Republic of Manda and would not be in any way, shape or form directly linked to, influenced by or otherwise pressured with links to the Republic or member worlds of the Republic. Likewise this treaty would not be one in which the worlds would be coerced into the signing of the treaty, as it would be completely mutual in the terms of two worlds seeking protection from primarily the Trade Federation as well as other normal galactic criminal elements in the region such as pirates and raiders.

While I am glad to see you rejoin the RP, the request board is still, more or less, closed, until the last 4 requests are dealt with. However, we will certainly make this first priority once those four are dealt with (which should be shortly).

I'm with Adam on this one. Lets see the faction define itself a little first.

To clarify by the way. There's a stumbling block to just Hegemonizing these worlds as they are ultimately within a Sector which is a Republic Member. However, Kruus doesn't want to hold on to or really care about the Sector and would be quite happy to negotiate it away with it being an autonomous region, with Manda recognized as Sector Capital etc (we could do this even via holonet which you could begin immediately if you like) in exchange for a settlement of some sort. Also, the Trade Federation won't stand in your way if theres a negotiated settlement, the Chancellory would see to that, I can give you an OOC guarantee of them not stopping a Republic agreed Treaty.

So just drop a call to the Diplomatic Corps, or send an Ambassador, and we can sort out extending the "Serene Republic of Manda and it's Colonies" to extend upto and including Governorship of the whole Sector ASAP. We can RP it fairly quickly I am sure so you can get your faction enlarged even further than you're asking for..

OOC I have no problem with the expansion and when theres a RPed agreement with the Republic I give you my word I would vote in favour of ratifying he request with an approve vote for the provisions of a "Treaty of Manda". No tricks no games, straight up putting it on the negotiating table.

So basically if I came off as opposed earlier, I am not, lets just RP a legal basis for you having either just these worlds or the whole Sector if you wish (I'll even concede the world of Devros to you which I RP and is in the Sector so you have a clean sector free of outside influence that you can produce whatever type of state you like within the region you negotiate.

I think this can be placed on hold for the time being while the over all agreement and plan of action is hammered out.

Ready when you are on that front. Perhaps you would prefer to just request the Republic sends an embassy and I could bring this character to you in person if you don't want to do it over the holonet. Either way, let the talks begin!
