Still working out some kinks, but more of an early-warning request. I'd like to request:

Botajef, in the Belsmuth Sector.

As well, per mention in these posts, the sale of certain assets requested here to include:

Quote
2x Class 1000 cruiser
3x CR90 corvette
24x Cutlass-9 patrol fighter
12x Turbostorm-class gunships
4x Air defense towers
2x HX.6 Turbolaser batteries
1x PY-6 Proton torpedo site

To be sold to Botajef.

Minister of Economics

As you've constantly asserted how there's a large faction on Druckenwell that supports being able to defend themselves. And since the Federation would massively oppose such a deal. I vote against. Fleet transfers here.

I think once word of this got around many of the Druckenwell crewmen would sooner mutiny and turn their ships over to the TDF than allow a sale which would be universally condemned on the world itself.

Just abandoning a system and saying "the TDF will defend it" isnt how things should work. Why would Druckenwell do this? there's no motive it's just you've decided you'd like to play as Botajef = cool. So request it and a fleet there separately. I don't see Druckenwell being sold up the river on this one.

You do make some good points.

Change it to:

Quote
3x CR90 corvette
24x Cutlass-9 patrol fighter
12x Turbostorm-class gunships
4x Air defense towers
2x HX.6 Turbolaser batteries
1x PY-6 Proton torpedo site

The Class 1000s were a gift from the Trade Federation. They ought to stay.

This is also a placeholder and not an immediate request.

Better yet, scrap the fleet part for now.

I need a lot more information. You request it in what way? As a trading partner or protectorate of Druckenwell? Or as Lomen Ryuun's property? Do you want to have influence over it? Or own it? Or...? I'm just not sure what specifically you're requesting.

If Druckenwell is selling some of its ships to Botajef, presumably it has its own government that's able to participate in that transaction. What relationship does Ryuun have to the government of Botajef? How is Ryuun justifying to his own government and people the sale of Druckenwell's ships? Much less ripping turbolaser towers out of the ground in Il Ivali to ship them offworld? And does Botajef not already have any defenses of its own?

You see why I'm grasping for information here.

Sorry, sorry. There have been some changes to this.

Minus the fleet part (which has no bearing since I canceled Druckenwell's fleet), Ryuun is retiring from Druckenwell. What he's going to do in exchange is to travel to Botajef, along with the varied proof of records in which Cynum instructed him to vote this way or that, for the Trade Federation's benefit. With that in hand, as well as the knowledge that he was known for standing up to the Trade Federation, he will gain favor with the Botajef government, which, in turn, will allow him to run as their Senator.

Ryuun will be out of play, more or less, from the Senate for an RL month to represent the internal workings of all of this.

As Jace said I'd like a convincing detailed explanation of how you go and take over another world's seat in a month.

Well, as you're aware, a month RL seems a lot slower than a month RP. There's not necessarily a draw-between, and I think a month's rotation out of play is more than acceptable.

To answer Jace's questions, though:

Regarding the ships and ground defenses, that all was canceled, so it's no longer part of the request.

I assume Botajef has its own defenses and a small fleet, yes.

As for Ryuun and Botajef...

I intend to play Botajef as the Trade Federation's primary passive antagonist. I believe that, for as many times as it has been mentioned that 'it can't be proven people don't like the Trade Fed,' that perhaps having a steadfast voice in the Senate that is opposite to the Trade Federation will drive the Trade Federation to actually be used more in play and allow it to have more of a competitive edge to it, seeing as it will have an antagonist of sorts.

Think a little rival for the Trade Fed is a fun plot device. His voting requests arent out of the ordinary and would give him no power though.

I think the realistic way you could become Senator at this point so quickly would be expending 9/10ths of Ryuuns wealth to just buy every official needed and so get his position. Still leaving him very rich.

Ryuun does risk becoming a bit of a Comic Farce if you fail to articulate opposition to the TF well, in which case they'd likely recall you within your term.

The government of Botajef may be at odds with the Trade Federation, but the people of Botajef presumably have a lot more priorities than just an anti-Trade Federation agenda. Sure, we've heard of one-issue voters, but usually that one issue is something like abortion, gay marriage, or something else to do with personal freedoms. It seems to me that disagreements over trade aren't likely to motivate a great mass of people to support a candidate for Senator from some other planet because, and only because, he was until recently a Trade Federation errand boy but is now claiming to be anti-Trade Federation. It's an extremely thin case to be another planet's Senator. Ultimately, Ryuun doesn't have any special qualification to be Senator that Botajef's crop of would-be Senators don't already have. So in order to pull this off, I think two things need to happen.

First, I agree with Jamie: you need to buy high-profile public figures on Botajef and get endorsements of Ryuun's candidacy.

Second, I want to see a considerable amount of RP with Ryuun perhaps in a lesser job; Trade Representative, for example. That way, the people of Botajef become used to Ryuun representing them, and he also has a platform to explain to the people of Botajef not just how the Trade Federation is bad, but how it's bad for them. Also, as Botajef's Trade Representative, Ryuun could rack up some accomplishments on behalf of Botajef; negotiate some trade deals with other planets in the RP that bring jobs to Botajef, for example. Thus, when you later make your move to become Botajef's Senator, Ryuun can actually say that he's done things for Botajef and not just for himself.

That's fine by me. I'll kick off some RP with Ryuun, and Trade Representative works well. I like your idea Jace. Muy bueno.
