Fair enough.

In regards to the Afflictor, Quintus could have cut an under-the-table deal with Lorrd to choose Empress Teta as the sole provider of carbonite for their operations at Drongar, which, as bota needs it to be shipped, means that Empress Teta gets direct profit. However, this would hardly be a 'known' fact; more of a verbal agreement off-record between

In regards to Lantilles, their ship would be purchased outright, but later sold to alleviate the cost of the Procurator to an extent. The reasons for purchasing that ship is much the same; to win the sole trade rights of carbonite with Lantilles (which has a shipyard whose hyperdrives require carbonite). While this wouldn't be an under-the-table deal, it would be the first move towards securing a friendship between Empress Teta and Lantilles.

If the CR90 were more heavily armed, I'd have chosen it, but the Marauder makes a good escort ship and pocket carrier. Unfortunately, it's usually seen as a pirate vessel.

Change the CR70 to CR90. Apparently, the CR70 isn't armed at all.

As a note, the Afflictor-class is the first time I am seeing real-world time limits imposed on any requests for ships. What is the reasoning behind this?

Because the request is being processed within a reasonable time frame (a month) and because these ships are larger than average and so via Ruusan Regs, slower. After production there's the extremely slow journey to Empress Teta... Also thanks to the ships only being allowed to have regional maps, they'd have to stop and update their charts regularly. Plus the Procurator is hampered by its class limited range hyperdrives which means even more regular stops. I'd estimate at a guess ten days to a fortnight for the relatively close Kuat ship to get from yard to Teta

The Lorrdian ship would be a little more straight forward but would still need new maps each region. But the distance is several orders of magnitude further and so could realistically take five or six weeks on a class 5...

Plus the Lorrdian one is their first real ship line etc and a huge ship they r got no experience making, learning skills takes time. Plus they've double booked themselves and I think it's only realistic they're capped at building one at a time at least until the construction techs get used to the ships intricacies.

The Kuati ship is just much larger and would require extensive fitting out and the higher quality shakedown prep the big yards give ..

I don't realistically put the building of the Afflictor at the same time as the building for the one for Empress Teta, though. The request for Lorrd has been waiting and continually revised for quite some time now. But that's a separate matter.

Due to the changing nature of the roleplay, I'd say 10 days is more fair than a month. As a note, I don't see anything that requires the Afflictor to have only regional maps.

I can see the wait happening on the Procurator, though, since it's going through numerous changes (i.e. you and Jace hashing out details).

I'm not one for keeping requests open forever. Noone knows when we will have Procurator stats.

I propose you change the ship our for something else. Even if it's only as an interim measure.

Or withdraw the request for now.

Well, I'll go with the ships listed, minus the Procurator, though I assume with the understanding that once the Procurator is finally hashed out, it will replace the Lantilles vessel.
