I warn you, this is a bit of a big one. For the sake of management, I'm keeping the request for my expansion of Deralia separate from the forces request. Below, is the history, and culture, as well as detailed system information.

History
Deralia is a planet located in the Outer Rim, in the Tammuz Sector. 200,000 years ago it was inhabited by a hunter-gatherer tribe-based society, known as the Seraphs, which was united in a loose confederation that maintained peace but allowed war when it was deemed necessary or just between the tribes. What permanent settlements existed, of which there were sparse few, they often served as meeting grounds between various tribes. This was destroyed when one of the ships of the Taung, who were fleeing Notron (Coruscant) after their devastating loss against the Zhell, crash landed on Deralia, then known as Caelus. The Taungs first fortified the crash site of their ship, and then proceeded to wage war against those who inhabited the world they thought to be theirs. The Seraphs in turn united, forming a Council of Chiefs, and appointed from among them a Lord Chief to lead them as one. Despite their technology gap, the Seraphs were able to keep the war even with the Taungs. Eventually, the daughter of the Lord Chief was found to be in love and in a relationship with the son of the Chief Warrior. This resulted in the war igniting into one comparable to a holy war.

One day, after years of slaughter and unspeakable atrocities on both sides, the combined forces stood aligned against one another on an open, grassy plain. The morning of the battle, the two lovers that had made the war escalate exponentially stood in each other's arms, daring their fathers to wage war where they stood. Finally forced into a line they would not cross, the two finally sat down at the urging of their children, and settled a peace in which each Taung clan would be paired with a Seraph tribe for co-existence; which was solidified by the wedding of the two children that evening on the very spot they stood that morning on the plain now known as the Plains of Fate. This event would create the environment in which the Taung and the human Seraphs began interbreeding and develop of hybrid of both cultures.

Soon, each Taung-Seraph community would search the world for a location to establish their own city-state. The Council of Chiefs remained in place, each Chief now leading a city-state, still led by the Lord Chief, and the Chief Warrior remained in place to lead the warriors. Deral, the first child of the children from the Taung-Seraph War, was appointed the first Supreme Leader of the people by the time he reached maturity. Named after the Seraph Chief of the Gods, Caelus was renamed Deralia in his honor, and that of the God, following his death.

The concept of a tribe soon diminished within Deralian society, the concepts and traits of which were soon applied to the city-states; meanwhile, the clan system of the Taungs prevailed, and later became the houses of the nobility. In time, the Deralians unified themselves in together, as the space age dawned upon Deralia in 25,000 BBY. The Mithra Union, as the united government came to be known, soon explored its region, interacting with worlds such as Tammuz-an and R-Duba. Quickly it became a leader among the other young planets, and formed the Independent Alliance. For the first time, it was commonly referred to as simply Deralia by its peers. Deralia led the Independent Alliance in a fight for independence from the young Galactic Republic and the remnants of Xim's Empire, as well as the always threatening Hutt Empire, viewing all as alien threats. Once the threat had subsided, the Independent Alliance was disbanded. The Deralians soon had their unsettled differences descend upon them in peace and the Mithra Union quickly fell apart, regressing the people out of the stars, and back into a city-state existence.

One woman remember the glory of the Mithra Union, and in 8,000 BBY, she rose as a visionary who wished to lead the Deralian people to glory, whether they wished to follow or be dragged. Her name was Ravenna, and she lived in a world in which the Taung were a distant memory, their weak genetic code being overridden by breeding with humans, much like what would occur thousands of years later on Mandalore to the Taung. While this left the Deralians with a distinct genetic makeup, and tendencies, they appeared, inside and out, no different than humans, leading to their treatment as such.

As the space age returned to Deralia, Ravenna knew that in order to stand a chance, the Deralians must stand united. She issued a wide decree, join her or be conquered. Those who refused were greeted by her warriors and those of her allies. Having gained the allegiance of mostly smaller city-states, her war was unsuccessful at first, each siege broken, Mithra in turn put under siege, and her army forced to retreat to her Keep in a mountain range later named for her. The other city-states, united under the banner of the Seraphim Alliance, laid siege to the Keep, and in turn called for their forces that had been arrayed around the planet. While they laid siege, she merely waited. Eventually, the Seraphim Alliance broke over disagreements on how to continue the siege, and by the time their reinforcements arrived, war was being fought before the Keep and the surrounding city. It was perhaps coincidence that on the other side of the mountain range lied the Plains of Fate. During the siege, one of the most powerful surface storms before or since struck the area of the battling forces. Then, as fi guided by the Gods themselves, Ravenna stepped out alone to face the opposing armies, only to have the storm seem to immediately stop. The event was seen as an omen, and Ravenna, whose forces were on the brink of defeat were the Seraphim Alliance to reform, was unanimously and unconditionally declared Supreme Leader by the city-states of Deralia.

Ravenna led the armies through a mountain pass to the other side on a small piece of land at the base of the mountain range where two rivers flowing out of the mountains converged. The land between these two rivers would be settled by Ravenna as her capital, calling it Mithra, in honor of the last government to unite Deralia. She was soon proclaimed as Emperor of the Deralian Empire. Unlike the past, the Deralian Empire remained within its borders, working on building a galactic society; later resulting in a reform into the Kingdom of Deralia.

Considered a remote system in the time of the Jedi Civil War, it was used as the homeworld of the reprogrammed identity of the Jedi Revan. While this is of little note in historical context, it is the effect of this becoming known that is truly notable and historic. When the people of Deralia, who at the time were simple farmers attempting to put behind their days of tribal warfare and live in an age of peace on their world, the revelation that the single greatest Jedi at that point in time had come from their own, resulted in a cultural revolution. At the time, a Jedi dynasty, chosen in reverence to the abilities of the Force, thus leading to an uninvolved monarchy, was in power; with the Jedi unwilling to publicly admit that they altered Revan's mind to their own ends, the lie continued unhindered. The Revanchist Revolution, as it came to be known, caused the Deralians to embrace their former warrior ways, and resulted in a policy of aggressive population growth and territorial expansion.

With this, which from a scientific standpoint could be viewed as an outside influence upon an unprepared people, a unique culture has developed that is rooted in its past, but constantly striving for the perfect future, in their eyes. It was not, nor has commonly been, a peaceful process for Deralia. In the beginning, there was constant focus on improving their world and making it ready for its "true" place in the galactic community. It was this striving that ultimately led it down a dark path. At the outbreak of the Great Galactic War, Deralia had just joined the Republic, which it stood by throughout the war; that is until its final days. In the days following the Sacking of Coruscant, ultranationalists, feeling it were within their best interest, overthrew the current government and helped install the Sith Empire in power over Deralia, leading to a dynasty of Sith Lords that ruled over the world for 160 years, with the exception of the period of the Cold War, during which independence from both sides was imposed upon the world by treaty agreements. Upon the defeat of the Sith Empire, there was no triumphant liberation. Rather, the Republic let the Sith holdout on several worlds that had opportunistically left the Republic. This decision would lead to later problems for the Republic.

It was Deralia, finally fed up with Sith rule, that rose up and eliminated the Sith dynasty, led by the former ruling dynasty, the Aurelius Family, which proceeded to undertake their former regnal name, Deralius, upon being restored to the throne. It was this, the new nationalist effort, the remaining structure from the Sith Empire, and the need by the people to establish their pride and dominance once more, that lead to the establishment of the Deralian Empire. They would spend a millennium attempting to rebuild their society, improving upon it, and building one of the largest military forces in the Outer Rim. It was decided that no longer would outside influences, such as the Sith or the Republic or the Hutts would have a say on their lives; the Deralians would make their own fate. This, among many other factors, attributed to the outbreak of what would be called the Outer Rim Wars: a conflict fought between the Deralian Empire, Cygnus Star Empire, Hutt Empire and two Republic client-states, the Kingdom of Cron and Tion Hegemony, in 2,500 BBY.

In the Outer Rim Wars, the Republic was at first interested only in attempting to restore peace between the Cronese and Tionese, who were in fact allies of the Cygnus Star Empire and Deralian Empire respectively. During this time, the Deralians undertook a massive campaign of rapid expansion, fueled by a policy of military dominance. It wasn't until the Hutts began attacking Republic worlds, itself a response of blind expansion to the five-way war that had broken out, and a wish to restore their old borders, which led to Republic intervention that would after ten years, restore peace between the belligerent parties.

From the aftermath of the conflict, Deralia and Cygnus would periodically go to war, and Deralia would remain a strong supporter of the Tion Hegemony, and it would see its borders fluctuate. It was not until 2,250 BBY, upon the coronation of Empress Deralius I, that the domination of this nationalistic fever would be calmed. As first act as Empress, Deralius I would decree that all worlds outside the Deralia system, alternatively known as the Agoge system, would be granted independence. It's Empire at one point spanned the Tammuz, Galov, Al'Nasri, Zoraster, Albanin, Baxel, Bheriz, Kessel, Calaron, Yminis, Klina and portions of the Abrion and Quiberon Sectors, at their maximum during the Outer Rim Wars, although whether this was the limits of actual political control or merely the boundaries of its network of military outposts remain debated to this day. In one decree, it was limited to one star system, and would remain as such for over two millenia.

Following the abandonment of its imperialistic aspirations, Deralia strove to reform itself into a Republic client state, becoming so under the reign of Empress Deralius I. While limited in governmental rule of its star system, it aided its former holdings in becoming independent governments, and acted as a stabilizing force in the region. It's time as a client state was turbulent however, as conservative elements had taken hold following the liberal Empresses Deralius I, II, and III; leading to a crisis in direction. The Deralius dynasty had been leading Deralia towards full Republic membership, the following Petronius dynasty began making efforts towards restoring the Deralian Empire to its former glory, straining relations that had been vastly improved with now Republic client-state Cygnus Star Empire, which had in turn given up much of its holdings due to Empress Deralius I's Independence Decree. Emperor Valerian II was the first honest step towards joining the Republic since Empress Deralius I; committing Deralia's forces to the New Sith Wars. It was Valerian II's move that would be his downfall, causing the ousted conservative elements to turn to the Sith yet again for power. A second Sith dynasty was put in place, that of Paxis, and would survive until the closing days of the New Sith Wars.

With Darth Paxis IV killed in the fighting on Ruusan, the Aurelius Family led yet another rebellion into successful victory. Upon obtaining the throne, King Aurelius XXI immediately sought to join the Republic, which, desperately seeking members in the aftermath of the devastating New Sith Wars, accepted Deralia without question. Under the Ruusan Reforms, Deralia also represented the entire Tammuz Sector, becoming a true leader once again in its region. It was a position it gladly accepted, but soon, the people became tired of having to constantly lead, and the region slowly turned against the people that had so long dominated their fate and lives. During the Octavius dynasty, the seemingly reliable Deralian seat in the Senate was aggressively challenged, and soon taken, by Tammuz-an, which despite still being a fractured world of nation-states, was able to remove the Deralians from power, having rallied behind their war cry of "Taking back our sector!"

Tammuz-an representation was not as fruitful as many thought, however, and several delegates, overwhelmed by the galactic scope of the position and the constant in-fighting on their home planet, the Tammuz Sector rapidly fell into obscurity, and as Tammuz-an soon fell back within Hutt Space, its delegates became increasingly corrupt Hutt lackeys, which soon fought for the sector delegate position with simple beings from Shiffrin and smuggler lords from Chuzalla. Soon, subjects such as the Outer Rim Wars were matters that became stuff of legend even among scholars, and Deralia was viewed as nothing more than another uppity backwater planet by even some of the most knowledgeable citizens. And Deralia enjoyed this.

It was not until the rule of King Aurelius XXV that Deralia began to awake from its slumber. Believing in resuming its role as a galactic power, and standing in opposition to the Hutts, Deralia's protectorate of Shiffrin and client state of R-Duba were both made sovereign territory, patrols across the sector, particularly around Chuzalla, were resumed, and customs duties were resumed in the Triellus Trade Route, leading into Quiberon Sector. Simultaneously, the local rivalry with the Dorande was seemingly resumed.

Culture
Deralian culture is perhaps on of the most unique in all the galaxy. There is a strong sense of public service, and it is rare to find one who puts their needs ahead of those of the group. Long ago, every citizen was required to serve in the military, but this was ended at the beginning of the first Deralian unification. They have a strong inclination to public service and self-sacrifice, leading to many being poor entrepreneurs, and thus a very low success rate of Deralia-based businesses. There are, in fact, only thirteen total Deralian business firms in existence, all of whom have advanced to system, sector, and some even galactic wide operations.

Deralian society is highly regimented and very organized, with Deralians known for their strict discipline and work ethic, willing to do what needs to be done and to always follow through. Despite their warrior roots, and many easily perceiving the high placement of the military in their society, Deralians are not easily spurred to violence. When conflict is inevitable, however, they only understand the concept of "total war". No matter the scale, their goal in combat is to defeat their foe so completely that they remove the threat of having to fight the same foe more than once. They do not necessarily believe in exterminating their enemy, but wish to so completely devastate their military and warfighting capability, that the enemy has no choice but to surrender or face annihilation. Thus, many former foes become Deralian colonies or protectorates.

As mentioned before, the military is the center of society, and no career path is deemed more honorable. At one point, the military was not just an armed force, but a full public works organization. The first Deralian Emperor, however, ensured that there was a clear distinction between the civilian and military bodies.

Deralians are often seen as "men of action", and are also regarded as some of the most socially progressive people in the galaxy, with many not caring what beliefs or deviations or vices one may have, as long as they serve the whole. While they all have personal desires, their instinct is to equate the self with the group, and often set aside all personal desires for the good of all. This has led to minimal resistance to changes in leadership, or the leaders themselves, unless it becomes clear that it is not in fact good for the whole.

Most notable of all, perhaps, is a strong sense of personal accountability for a Deralian. Deralians are taught from birth to own every action and decision, for good or ill. One of the worst sins of Deralian culture, is to lie about one's own actions, even for foreigners; although this is not something taken by mere hearsay. This mindset makes crime almost non-existent among Deralians, for if crime does occur, the criminal will often confess when questioned.

Their economy is larger than most worlds, but is often of the military variety. Other avenues in economics has been largely hampered by mere cultural disinterest. Why be a banker when one could be an officer? This has changed since unification, somewhat, as it has become acceptable to find one's path does not lie with the military. For Deralians, as much honor as the military carries, it is also honorable to know when one simply can not handle military life. For Deralians, everyone has a role in which they will flourish in life, and if one does not join the military, they are expected to find that role and advance as highly in it as possible. Thus, while non-military economic endeavours are far weaker, the Deralian economy overall enjoys an efficiency rivaled by few, and leads to their high employment by foreign firms.

Deralians believe that groups and areas have "spirits" that transcend the individual. A military unit, city, or even a tree, is considered to have a spirit which reflects its nature and is neither good nor evil. It is not believed that the spirits can affect the world, but they can inspire the living. Prayers and rituals allow an individual to converse with a spirit for guidance or inspiration. The same concept is applied to the individual, each having a spirit, and it is believed that through prayer and ritual, one may speak to an ancestor for guidance or inspiration. It is also believed that titans strode across Deralia, reaching for the stars. Deralians worship these titans as deities, each coming to signify a concept or facet of life. These titans were betrayed by some of their brothers and sisters, who were selfish, thinking of only themselves, and attempted to stop the titans from reaching the stars. It is from these origin myth that the "light" and "dark" gods come from.

Religious freedom is highly prized, however, by the Deralians, and each is allowed to believe and worship however they may. This is caused an expected drop in belief in the Deralian religion, but has also caused a noticeable group which continues on the Deralian religion, which has also been changed with the adoption of Taung beliefs into the mainstream religion.

Description: A unusually large terrestial world, Athenry has a dense atmosphere of nitrogen and helium, with a surface composition of alkaline basalts. Although plentiful of metal and mineral deposits, its scorching hot surface, dense atmosphere, and unpredictable seismic and volcanic activity on both day and night side, has impeded all mining efforts. In the ancient times, during the migration of the Taung to the system, a small scouting party attempted to land on the planet by the ship burned up on entry. After a few decades of colonization on Deralia and the development of their religion, the Deralians came to believe Athenry was where their dead spirits went, to fight for eternity before an audience of the gods and their greatest warriors.

Xerxes
Radius: 74,612
Orbital Period: 3.3 Standard Years
Day Length: 8.8 Standard Hours
Satellites: 90
Description: A hydrogen-helium gas giant, it is unique in its striking crimson color, which is caused by the light of ionized hydrogen filtering through an upper cloud deck of sodium, and its large rock ring around its equator and even larger ice ring around its polar axis. The ionization of the hydrogen is still unexplained, but its mass and high temprature sugggests it could in fact be a brown dwarf, a gas giant that has gained enough mass to nearly ignite into a star. Its large gravity well keeps a distance between its neighboring planets, attributing to Athenry's close distance to Agoge, and also accelerates its orbit, attributing to its lightning fast orbit in comparison to neighboring gas giant Paladin.

You put a lot of time into this. It was a damn good read and I applaud it.

It took me a while to get through, and while I might have missed something (I will re-read it again later, to be sure), I approve at this time.

Sorry Jaron I never got to this. Heck to the Yes on an Approve and we hope you pardon our lack of promptness.

If Jaron would approve of it, I would like to propose the Deralians having dominated their sector thousands of years ago now can lay claim to it all. But the degree of direct rule varies considerably. I propose "The Tammuz Sector" be synonymous for the purpose of the RP with "The Deralian Imperium" with the Kingdom of Deralia (Deralia system itself) forming the Royal Capital while the Tammuz System is merely the Economic hub. Much as Milan is the Economic capital of Italy while Ancient Rome is the Historic Capital and Seat of Power?

I agree and I don't. Tammuz-an is technically within Hutt Space at this time. Nonetheless, I do agree with it being the representative of the Tammuz Sector in the Senate, no doubt under significant Hutt influence. Because of this, however, I expect there'd be a large Tammuz-an expatriate population elsewhere in the Tammuz Sector, most notably on Deralia and Chuzalla, that would pose a long-term obstacle to Deralian cultural hegemony over the Sector and, indeed, would eventually help to explain how Tammuz-an got its act together so quickly after the Clone Wars. So Deralia as cultural hegemon? I wouldn't go that far, not in the least because Deralia's culture is so unique to Deralians that I think it wouldn't be widely-accepted among, say, the godless, self-interested smugglers of Chuzalla, nor among the Tammuz-an, practically everything about whom is weirdly quasi-religious.

But military hegemon? I'd be open to that. From the last paragraph of your description it sounds like you intend to go in that direction. I like the sound of it very much, and I vote to APPROVE.

However I do think if you want 7 billion population for Deralia, the populations of Antarea and Capricorn (a name I'd prefer to see changed, btw) should be drastically reduced. Yes, we're far enough back in time that the population map in the Essential Atlas isn't gospel, but still, the more people in the system now, the more we eventually have to explain the absence of in only 130 or so years. So a billion here or there becomes rather significant.

Otherwise, the only bone of contention I had was the Tion Hegemony and the Kingdom of Cron being "proxies" of the Deralian and Cygnus Empires. The Tionese and Cronese worlds have a much grander history than either the Deralian of Cygnus Empires. I don't see them as mere proxies. Did the Deralians and Cygnese provide support to the Tionese and Cronese, respectively? Sure, of course. But I wouldn't use the term "proxy" in this particular case.

If anything traditionally the Cygnus are a Republic puppet, now they're under Huttese management. They were founded by a General in the wake of one of the wars who used the confusion to take his own piece of the Galaxy from the battered worlds he had conquered officially for the Republic.

The Deralian Empire would logically be a Tionese or Cronese (not that theres that much distinction now) proxy state.

And my god. Please can we reduce the populations except say Deralia itself?

The changes not having been made or agreed to, and seeing as there hasn't been a clear indication of interest in this request since 10 March, I'm re-opening it until we hear an answer from Aurelius. He may wish to contest the many points we've raised.

Sorry guys, I totally missed all of this discussion. While I appreciate the idea that Jamie is suggesting, I don't think it fits with the feel that I've set up. A hegemony of a more military variety makes sense, and works, and is more of the ultimate goal; becoming a military superpower on the Rim. This is the blending of several iterations and versions of Deralia, from original such work for Legends to as far back as the original works I did during the NIO days in AGW; with that, I don't always get to check myself and sometimes let some things slip out. Making the Tionese a proxy of the Deralians is one of those matters. I'll make the necessary adjustments and notify management once it is done (should be no later than tomorrow).

Alright! I hate to do this, but I added a bit to the history, putting in the pre-Jedi Civil War data that I seem to have forgotten. If there any issues with that portion of the history, please let me known; otherwise, the following changes were made:

■ The statement of proxy states has been removed, instead referring to an alliance between the relevant party.

■ Capricorn's name is changed to Cronus. If this name is also disagreeable, please let me know and an alternative will be found.

■ The population cut down on Deralia and Antarea. If the population needs to be reduced further, please let me know.

His Royal Majesty, Aurelius XXV
King of Deralia and Deralian Dominions
