| Beings,
You must lust for plunder as much as any other brigands. I've recently taken several Duros bank vaults laden with aurodium and all manner of other treasures.
So, for day twenty million credits in pure aurodium and gold ingots, you'd be prepared to do a little work for a fellow gentleman of fortune?
I'd like you to join me in a raid that will be sung of for a millennia. A strike upon a world that will help spread the terror felt around Duros to the Outer Rim... To show the Galaxy that nowhere from Core to the fringes of the Rim is not safe. The Republic crumbles my friend, the Dark is Rising... And you either ride the rising ride or are drowned in it...
I propose we hit the peace and republic loving Calamarians close to their beloved capital. And make that Senator Finbar void his ink sac in his polished senate office when he finds out.

| Lim Hejin was a cautious man. He hadn't gained his ship, the Stars of Arcadia by being foolhardy. True, he was a smuggler, and a pirate at times, but he prided himself on not shedding blood if he didn't need to, and not killing folks where it wasn't warranted. This, he largely felt, was the reason no bounties had been placed on his head. While he had no great love for the Republic, the same as much of his crew, he certainly didn't hate it, unlike some of his crew. The offer from the odd and enigmatic Kerubiel, who was known for his terrible attack on Lorrd, was not something to take lightly. However, twenty-million credits worth aurodium and gold weren't easily discarded either. After a crew meeting, Lim and his executive officer and lover, Petra, faced the holocomm system.
"Half up front," Hejin said without preamble. "Mon Calamari is a major Republic world. It's not going to earn us any friends by doing this. I don't put much stock in dark or light, and if this is the Republic crumbling... well, that's your view. Still, a job is a job and for a shady barve, you're offering a lot. So we'll do it, long as the payments get sent. Know that if things turn south, as captain of this ship, I make the call on when my ship leaves."

| I propose you a different payment option. Full payment up front. The funds will be immediately placed in escrow in a numbered account with the Banking Clan on Muunilinst (allowing you to verify their existence and their link to your dna). Release of payment on that vast treasure will be authorized to your dna scan, contingent upon full reasonable participation and cooperation with our forces during the engagement. Additionally a cash sum would be paid in advance to cover your costs in fitting, arming and travel to our rendezvous point.
The Escrow Office of the Banking Clan will rule on the detailed technicalities, and we don't doubt your ship and ours will choose to remain engaged for similar times. Notice I specified reasonable participation, so naturally your payment would not be hit if you had full justification to disengage for any reason on the day.
We're not hitting Dac itself. We're going to hit one of its larger and more valuable colonies. There is no sense in smashing a man's skull in when your mission is to cause fear.. instead he flaying of an arm is such a more potent and continuous reminder precisely because the attack is not happening to their critical points, but inflicts pain and spreads fear for further hits upon the critical points.
So we have a deal?

| Upon hearing this, Hejin frowned. Exchanging a glance with Petra, he looked back towards the holographic image of Kerubiel and shook his head.
"I don't trust most bankers, and I've never been a big fan of the Muuns. The IGBC is just another extension of that, and traceable to me. Nobody has any links to my DNA for now, outside of some birth records I paid very expensively to change and get a new identification." Hejin shook his head again. If Kerubiel was coming to this ship and this crew, he obviously needed the expertise and, more so, the heavy guns. While most pirates might maintain a small fleet of converted freighters or even a handful of loosely-affiliated corvettes, the Stars of Arcadia was one of the heaviest hitting ships in the smuggling business.
"If you want my crew and I to sign on, we need half payment up front. Delivered by shuttle to a neutral location and met by one of us in our own shuttle. Simple, clean and easy. Obviously if you knew enough to contact me, you know I don't take payments and run. As for what we're hitting, I just need the basics. You aren't paying me to swallow any rhetoric or reasons. You're paying me for my expertise."

| This is agreeable. If you wish for a nice sculpture to express my view on the banking system I have a dozen tractor bran mangled vaults at your disposal. I'm planning the operation but I'd value your input on which worlds within the Calamari Domain would be the best target for out raid.
If you were Dac, which worlds assault would concern you most?

| Hejin looked doubtful. When it came to terms of 'raiding,' he was more accustomed to assaulting the lone convoy of merchant craft, or the occasional deep space facility that was not properly defended. Risks could be taken, but not uncountable ones. There were fast smugglers and pirates, and old smugglers and pirates, but rarely, if ever, were there fast and old smugglers and pirates.
"I've never taken a tactical look at Dac. Frankly, as I said, I'm for hire for your raid. I assume you might be going up against some heavy vessels, but beyond that, I don't know much about the Calamari. They're not exactly smuggler friendly."

| You will have two of my frigates under your indirect command (my captains have been told to follow your orders where they think them in line with our aims). I will hit Lantilles with the strike wing and my Fighter Squadrons presently.. you are to hit the yards at Ruisto in the Calamari Sector.

| Hejin consulted the galactic map on a different nearby screen for a moment, then nodded slowly.
"It could be done... but Ruisto is a bare skip away from Mon Calamari itself, and the squids easily have enough ships to outgun us. Unless you can figure out a diversion to draw some ships off of Ruisto and Mon Calamari, I wouldn't estimate we have very much time at all to his this place. Ten, fifteen minutes tops until they can mount a sturdy defense."

| "The fireships into the main yards at Dac should delay any reply. While at the same time we hit the Dac yards with fireships, we'll send in strike fighters to hit them and also simultaneously threaten another world with a capital ship of ours... Distributed terror will assure their forces are chaotic. Just jumping from Mon Calamari to Ruisto takes that. The route will have been made rather... difficult to use thanks to the re positioning of asteroid clouds onto the route. We're also going to have slavers hitting the Pinperu system and if possible the use of another mercenary force for a decapitation strike on Dac's government." He smiled "Worry not my friend. The sector will be in instant chaos."

| The plan seemed as if it had merit. Hejin was still uneasy about the entire operation, though. If Kerubiel's forces were good enough, however, the man's plan might well succeed.
"Very well. You can deliver the first payment to the coordinates I'm sending to you. Tatooine. The Dune Sea. Four days. I'll have some of my people there in a shuttle ready to receive it."
