There are two matters I wish to propose and bring to your attention today.
It struck me today, reading Senator Cynum's excellent legislation, and following the example of the Corporate Sector Authority, perhaps we ought to introduce a form of "Shareholder Citizenry" much as the CSA has done.
I would suggest that for perhaps, 500,000 Republic Dataries worth of Trade Federation Shares (per person) we grant them the title of Shareholder-Citizen, this being an honour granted largely to those inhabiting Trade Federation Worlds. This "investment" would require an annual top-up of 50,000 Republic Dataries a year to remain current.
Rights of a Shareholder Citizen
- Investing the holder with some form of badge or token he can treasure.
- Free travel for the Shareholder Citizen, and one guest, on all Trade Federation regular routes.
- A 25% discount on all shipping costs charged by the Trade Federation.
- The right to be exempt from the Local Legal System on Trade Federation Worlds and to have the right to be tried by the Trade Federation Planetary Vizier on that world on the basis of his own judgement (which shall be considered superior to that of local laws but shall not set precedent).
- The right to Consular Aid from the Trade Federation Representative in any given system, should he become in a distressed situation.
- The right to request the Trade Federation Enforces contracts.
Shareholder Citizen Status could be withdrawn by any official of Customs Vizier grade or above. All current Trade Federation Company officials ranking as Trade Officers or Higher would automatically be extended Shareholder Citizenship for Life at no Charge. This would then also be an honour we could bestow on loyal local officials on Trade Federation Worlds.
Trade Federation Identification Documents
I'd like to propose we have a formal Corporate Identification Document so we may be recognized, especially when we're off visiting some far flung part of the Trade Federation's business and often struggle to confirm identities.
