He looked down at the datapad he was holding, and shook his head. Only a handful of volunteers, and it was a disappointing lot to say the least. He had even gone so far as to delay it for a day, citing no response from the Judicial Department on an escort assignment. Still, no volunteers; he only wished it was not such a common occurrence. Many Jedi had adopted the practice of not allowing their apprentices to leave the confines of the Order’s secure locations, with the number of those doing so seeming to grow every year. Now, the results of this sheltering practice had come to a head in moments such as this. A chance for Jedi to get out of the confines of the Order and see the galaxy, and so few had taken it up. He was not disappointed in the Jedi before him; that was too harsh of a criticism. He was only disappointed in the number of them.

Lately, Master Valla had been nowhere to be found, likely buried in her meditation chambers. If this were the case, however, it was disconcerting. She seemed more in tune with the more Force-based matters of the Jedi, whereas he was more in tune with the martial matters of the Jedi. It led to a bit of a yin and yang relationship, which could potentially become rocky, but he believed the Jedi Council thought would be helpful to the Luminosity. He was yet, in his time thus far aboard the ship, to meet her.

His R4 chirped behind him. “No, Wu, we’ll wait a little longer for anyone who wishes to join the team at the last minute,” he said while staring back at the Knight and three Padawans that had joined the mission. As if to hammer the point home, Captain Nadia approached him. “Excuse me, Master Jedi. The Perihelion is ready to launch.” With that, the Judicial officer bowed to him, made a clean military about-face, and practically marched himself aboard the awaiting Consular-class Space Cruiser.

At this moment, the turbolift next to the marked landing area opened. Out of strode two Jedi Knights who seems to naturally know how to fight. Yet, the two had an aura of guardians… protectors; two beings concerned solely with the safety and security of those around them. The Noghri was R’khakh, whose people were rarely known by a vast supermajority of beings in the galaxy, even among the Jedi. The Togruta was Krenis Saar, who was part of R’khakh’s youngling class and had been one of his closest friends through training.

The two approached Master Tching, arms folded in their sleeves and in lockstep with one another. As R’khkah approached, he bowed, with Krenis following shortly afterwards. “Master…” he said, with a hint of reverence for his former master. “We will be providing security for your mission. While it is likely not required, there is still the potential for conflict where suffering resides.” After being acknowledged, the two continued on to the ship, with their personal astromechs now rolling behind them.

He looked around, and did not see the Jedi Knight named Dani he had heard might be joining them. He pulled out his communicator and commed her, “Jedi Knight Dani, I was told you were accompanying us to Dantooine but I do not see you in the hangar. Are you still joining us for our journey?” he spoke into the commlink, waiting at the base of the ramp into the ship for a reply.

"Daneira, please, Jedi R'khakh."  There was only one person in the Galaxy that could call her 'Dani', and he was on a mission halfway across that same galaxy.  "Just....Daneira."  She was walking into the hangar when he was having her paged across the comm.  Dani pulled on her jacket as she walked and then flung a messenger bag across her body.  "Sorry I was late."  She murmured, not giving an excuse.

Respectfully, Daneira moved past him and to the ramp.  "R'khakh..."  She nodded to him as she continued up the ramp.  "What's going on?  I mean...I didn't know plants were your thing?"  She hadn't heard the conversation about him being security, since she was late, so she meant no disrespect.  Dani shifted the strap of the bag on her shoulder and tossed a glance up into the ship for a moment as she kept walking on board.

"I apologize, Jedi Daneira. I heard the name in passing and assumed you preferred the alternate name. I will not make the mistake again," he responded on the commlink. He observed her approach the vessel, noting her informal appearance. He would assume, and this time keeping it to himself, that she had more traditional robes in her bag. This was, also assuming, unlikely. He turned to follow her up the ramp and into the ship, making an effort to speak with her as he walked, although it was likely awkward. He was still getting used to galactic civilization, and as a moment ago proved, he was not used to many aspects of the common culture.

"I and a fellow Jedi Knight have been assigned to this mission to provide security. While we do not expect any trouble, it is an time of distress on Dantooine. Where there is distress, there is desperation; where there is desperation, there is irrationality. We must be prepared for anything," he said to her, his serious demeanor betraying his relaxed attitude about the assignment. Krenis had gone ahead and joined the other Jedi in the Salon, and he motioned for Daneira to follow him to it as well.

She did not, indeed, have a set of standard Jedi robes in her bag.  In fact, she hadn't had a set since Bellassa, when she discarded hers in a burnt out building, after having torn part of the fabric off to fashion a crude sling for Karth.  Daneira knew several Jedi that didn't wear them, as it was easier to move, especially in a fight, without the bulk of the wool dragging them down.  It was an airflow thing...plus, the robes were ugly.  Besides, she had never really been one for formality.

R'khakh seemed so serious, and she nodded in response to his statement.  "Well...we will just have to get them all fixed up so they won't be distressed anymore, huh?"  She said, somewhat flippant about the serious tone in his voice.  "The people of Dantooine will be fine, you'll see.  No pitchforks and torches, I am sure.  I hear folks are actually quite nice there."  Dani continued on, then paused.  "But just in case...what is the general plan?  And who else is joining us?"

"Dantooine... I just left there..." Havoc thought as he was prepping a pack for the trip to Dantooine. He had taken the time to get medically cleared from the doctor (even if the data-pad had been forged), however he wasn't about to lay in a bed waiting for his wounds to clear and he sure wasn't about to sit in a bacta tank either. This was personal. He would assist in Dantooine for another reason; he wanted to know what that special cargo was and what made it so 'special'. Being assigned to the freighter carrying the said cargo with no information on it rubbed Havoc the wrong way, especially to where it caused him to be severally injured. Grabbing his pack and slinging it over his shoulder, he walked out. No one bothered to check up on him once he left the medical wing. Daneira and a Padawan were the only ones. He could of died and yet no one would of noticed... at least until the stench of a dead body would roam the halls. Looking around, he proceeded to meet up with Daneira and the rest of the crew proceeding to Dantooine. His knowledge of the planet would probably do everyone justice; he was raised there after all. Rounding the corner, he stepped into the turbolift which would take him to the Hanger Bay.

The lift would take it's time getting to the destination and once it did, the doors would open. Stepping out, Havoc would walk towards what looked like Daneira... and someone else whom Havoc couldn't identify... like it mattered anyways. Once he got close enough to the group, he would grin. "So, we meet again." His voice would travel to her as he got closer. Stopping a few feet from her, he nodded some. "The doc has cleared me and I'll be going on this mission with you. Dantooine's my home and I know it better then..." He looked at the other Jedi with her. "The scales on your head." Smirking some, he would produce the datapad and give it to Daneira. "So when do we get started?"

He walked back aboard the ship, following a Jedi he had never seen before. His mood was improved by the sudden show of support, and they now seemed to have a real mission ready to go. His sudden boost was however shortly lived as he was overtaken by intrigue at this newcomer whom he had never seen before. There was the incident with the freighter the other day, but he thought Master Valla was handling it. He had heard that a Jedi was found aboard the vessel, but surely that Jedi was still in the medical wing being attended to.

The ramp was open for a few more moments for any stragglers while he walked through the lower hallway. He caught up with R'khakh and Daniera, as well as the unknown Jedi. He was direct and liked to get to the point wherever possible, thus he abruptly entered the conversation between the three before Daniera could respond. "Who are you?" he said, his sharp, martial voice booming from behind them. Waiting for the unknown Jedi's response, he looked him over and mentally evaluated the Jedi from what he could see at the moment.

Havoc grinned, and lowered his head. Not even moving to face Jedi Master Tching. "I'm Havoc... the lone survivor of the ship." However his grin turned into a smirk. "I was wondering if you were ever going to say anything, or continue to check me out from the back side." His eyes then looked at Daneria. "First thing we'll need to do is make contact with Administrator Ray. From there, he'll set us in the right direction." But deep down, Havoc would have his own private talk with Ray. It was after all, his fault that Havoc ended up in such a shape that would cause him to be somewhat out bested by pirates... but that battle would be fought when they arrived to Dantooine. "He's going to offer all of us living commendations... but I have a little ranch that we can all stay it; it is one of those areas affected by the drought." Spinning on his heels, he would turn to meet Tching eye to eye. "So tell me... Master... does that sound like a good plan to you?" Havoc smirked.

Daneira took the offered datapad and looked it over for a moment, nearly rolling her eyes.  She hadn't left Havoc that long ago in the medical bay, so she knew there was no way he could have been released that fast.  Dani said nothing of it, however, and just sat the datapad aside before she dropped down into a seat casually.

She noted the seriousness in the room and the fact that she stood out like a sore thumb amidst the other Jedi in robes, with lightsabers, and...desires to actually be Jedi.  For a brief moment, she thought that maybe, just maybe, she should have stayed on the Luminosity a bit longer and maybe waited for Karth.  Surely they would be back to the ship before he got there.  If not, he could always join them on Dantooine.

Maybe, Dani thought, she just wasn't ready for this yet.  Sure, it had been a year since Bellassa.  Sure, she had passed the trials with flying colors.  But she wasn't quite....ready.  For the moment, Daneira just sat back and listened to Havoc and his weird sense of sarcasm disrespecting a Jedi Master.  The fact that he seemed to know the Administrator on Dantooine did catch her interest though.

His eyes narrowed, akin to a predator locking eyes with its prey. "Havoc? What kind of name is that? I want your real name," he said, agitation clearly in his voice. The clear and blatant disrespect this supposed Jedi showed was a clear source of annoyance. It was not anger that he felt rising in him as the supposed Jedi spoke, but ire... indignation. Whether this was some form of test from this individual to gauge him, or if he was serious; the fact that a Jedi existed that felt he could speak to another Jedi like this, let alone a Jedi Master, was incredible.

He didn't even acknowledge this plan of his, considering such was unnecessary. Considering Administrator Ray was the one on Dantooine who first used official channels to call for Jedi aid, it was obvious that the Jedi would visit him first. "You; what is your rank and who is, or was, your Master?" he asked, his voice becoming low and ominous at this point. If he wished to get under the Jedi Master's skin, it worked; but this individual was also another moment of insolence away from being kicked off the ship and the mission he had invited himself on before it had even left the hangar.
