OOC Matters
Why have this ship? KDY already has the Munifex-class, why would it put out another line?
1. As a ship which you can run on a shoestring for long periods.
2. It's built to be reliable and unlike the Munifex does not use droids as a major part of the crew, harking back to the days of when men were men and fought their own battles, not simply commanding droids to fire the cannons.
3. It's designed to require less maintenance due to it having less weapons and so less stress placed on it's reactor as standard by battle.
4. It's able to go on patrols which could even exceed a year.
5. It's a design with no ties to the Trade Federation which might sell well on worlds which are unfriendly to said organization.

Sorry for another custom class.

I assume this is a precursor to the larger EF76 frigate.

I note that it carries the same starfighter compliment and speed, as well as several other features that are similar, but with a reduced crew.

However, as a precursor to the EF76, it's much more heavily armed. If you're trying to stay close to the spirit of the EF76, I'm fine with that, but I'd suggest dropping the weaponry down a bit, unless you want a ship that's vulnerable to starfighter attacks. Still, how you arm the ship is up to you. I'm just here to regulate.

It's got a slower hyperdrive and vastly less onboard attack craft.

Its designed as a cheaper alternative to the Munifex-class. It has cheap fighters etc.

Its going for long range, robust and reliable. Lacking a lot of Munifex features and gadgets.

The problem with this is that you're comparing it to the Munifex cruiser. Even the stock EF76 frigate is lesser armed than the Munifex. Granted, the 'Nebula-A' has a very brief footnote on Wookiepedia and is said to be armed with ion cannons. However, if you're making it a precursor to the EF76 Nebulon-B, I'd be much more likely to approve if (as we spoke briefly about), you made the ion cannons 'point defense ion cannons,' thereby turning this into more of what a long-range patrol ship fits rather than a capture vessel.

Well point defense Ion cannons is more than fine, suffice to say though theyd not be beyond disabling small freighters and fighters or machines. Its hardly going over the top.

Yes the stock Nebulon-B is worse armed. It also has (especially in rebel hands) a better compliment of fighters, and faster hyperdrive etc.

A precursor isn't always more weakly armed, or more heavily armed, or would have a similar weapons loadout. This is not to say they'd be continuously made until the Nebulon-B, or that the line would necessarily be a success. But its part of the process of developing toward new things that you try concepts out.

The Nebulon-B2 is arguably more weakly armed than the standard Nebulon-B but has a set of other advantages.

As I forsee, this would be a design which was put out, sold reasonably but isn't a show stopper since the TDF won't buy it and I doubt the Republic will and so fades into obscurity at the back of the catalog. Now, at the end of the Clone Wars when Kuat is the preferred supplier to the Empire and they type in "patrol frigate" and come up with this, it'd give them a basis to produce the Nebulon-B.

With the alterations, I don't see any issue with the ship.

Approve.

I'll give Jace about 2-3 days, since his days off are coming up soon. If no word from him, I'll finalize.
