History: A century before the "birth" of Boba Fett, there lived Kilroy—one of the most notorious bounty hunters of his era. The historical record of his exploits is incomplete, but we know that in 107 BBY a Werner Kilroy was discharged from the Taris Planetary Police Force for using excessive force and, some years later, found himself an indentured warrior in the gladiator pits of Loovria, bearing the brand of slavery on the right side of his head long after he had distinguished himself in the pits and won his freedom. The Melida/Daan Civil War and Trandoshan raids on Wookiee colony moons were just two of Kilroy's "pet wars" he involved himself in as a mercenary before eventually settling on a career of bounty hunting. He had a falling out with the Bounty Hunter's Guild, however, having broken all but one rule of the "bounty hunter's creed" at least once. But his reputation as a bounty hunter wasn't damaged; in fact, it was said that Kilroy always got his man (or, more often than not, alien—Kilroy was famous for his hatred of non-Humans. "I met all kinds of aliens on Rattatak," he once said, "All of them were trying to kill me"). Records show even the Trade Federation occasionally made payments to Kilroy for "services rendered." As his fame grew, so did his temper. Rumor has it he once killed a man for calling him by his first name, Werner.
The weeks before his 40th birthday were a time of decision for Kilroy. He had begun to feel his age and knew that he couldn't keep bounty hunting forever—privately, even Kilroy knew that sooner or later, he'd slip. And when he did, it would be his life. He had always been irresponsible with money, and his winnings from Loovria which had funded his early career had long since run out. Credits had come, credits had gone. It was then that he learned something that would open the final, little-known chapter of his life.
And the one rule of bounty hunting that he hadn't broken? Rule number one: "No bounty is worth dying for."
Werner Kilroy lived a rule-breaker, and he would die a rule-breaker.
KILROY The most notorious bounty hunter of our time.
