| Gentlebeings of the Senate, today, Jamulon Desilijic Tiure, the Bey of the Cygnus Star Empire, abolished the practice of slavery on his worlds, and announced that "the Cygnus Star Empire shall fully recognize the Rights of Sentience as laid down in the Galactic Constitution, especially with regard to slavery". This was the result of productive negotiations between myself and Mr. Tiure. In return for, and on the occasion of, the abolition of slavery in Cygnus Space, I have instructed the Ministry of State to resume diplomatic relations and privileges with the Cygnus Star Empire.
This is a positive step for the people of the Cygnus Star Empire and the galaxy. Tens of hundreds of beings are free today who weren't yesterday. It is a rare victory for the Republic over slavery, and an encouraging sign that the Cygnus Star Empire may free itself of the wicked embrace of the Hutt Cartel and re-join the galactic community once more.

| This is a grand day indeed, Chancellor Pryce.
Lorrd is grateful that another mind comes to see that slavery is terrible and has relented.
Incidentally, will Bey Tiure be allowing Judicial Forces access to his space? There is a dangerous criminal, that cad Kerubiel, who still resides within his area of control, who must be brought to justice.

| I would like to see Mr. Tiure reinstate the law enforcement cooperation agreements with the Republic that he terminated, but as I said in my concession speech, much of the work of my administration is going to remain unfinished, at least by me. Hopefully my successor will build upon today's accomplishment. I would certainly like to see Mr. Kerubiel brought to justice.
