Gentlebeings,

I appears an attack of unknown origin has fallen heavily upon Duro, marked by atrocity and shocking swiftness using conventional ships unknown in the Republic. The Trade Defense Force was the first responding aid force as it was the most swiftly on the scene, it has given aid and assistance where needed and offered Duro to come under the TDF aegis until it can more adequately defend itself.

The Trade Federation unconditionally condemns such attacks and calls upon the worlds of the region to be cautious and report any suspicious starship activity to law enforcement.

Indeed, Senator Cynum. I'm afraid cost cutting measures by the government, in addition to trade security patrols, Duro remaining an independent trader, left our homeworld vulnerable. Hopefully, Duro will be able to learn from this event and increase both training and modernization. For the time being, a strict security cordon will be in place for the Duro system while we review our commercial security policies and procedures. I thank the Trade Federation for its assistance, and will coordinate with the TDF commander at Duro, personally.

This is entirely lamentable, horrible and terrible.

The Humbarine Sector freely offers to lease you a portion of our starfleet (which is used to foreign deployments to aid worlds where needed) to be placed under your direct command and the Humbarine Government's command for six months. We could lend you half a dozen military grade corvettes and even arrange to loan you one of our ancient Battleships if you think it would secure your system.

Whatever needs you have. Humbarine stands ready to aid you.

The Trade Council calls upon all Corporations of the Galactic Republic to land what aid they can to the Duros while they are in their hour of need. They are an ancient and proud people and some bandits bringing them low like this is an insult to the whole Core.

Senator Kongming, this is indeed an unfortunate event! If there is any help Lorrd can offer, do let us know. Lorrd, more so than most, can empathize with an attack upon one's world and people, especially in such a cowardly manner.

Senator Kongming, who was the Senior Officer at the Admiralty of the Fleet which was humiliated and destroyed by one a quarter of it's own size at Duro?

What were the Civilian and Military Casualty counts?

Senators, I'm receiving information on this incident now. Why the government of Duro didn't call upon the Republic for assistance, I don't know. The Judicial frigate King's Galquek was in port as nearby as Tinnel IV, and is responding to merchant distress calls from Duro as we speak. It's fortunate that the Trade Defense Force happened to be even closer, and thus able to assist Duro in a more timely manner. But the TDF shouldn't need to defend a Core World from "an attack of unknown origin." Duro should have reached out to the Republic for help immediately.

I have directed the Judicial Forces to establish a dragnet on major hyperspace routes in the surrounding area to prevent these mysterious attackers from escaping the Core. If I have the assurance of Senators Cynum and Kongming that a security cordon is now in place at Duro, I'll order the King's Galquek to reconstruct the last-known vector of the attacking ships and give chase. In the meantime, the worlds of the Duro, Quanta, and Corellia sectors, and the planets Yag'dhul and Denon, are advised to be on high alert and to cooperate with Judicial Forces and the Trade Defense Force.

I must agree with the Chancellor on this one. Why was there not an immediate governmental distress signal sent out? This should be a matter of military procedure. The TDF only was able to respond because it was monitoring civilian traffic and heard the chaos. A general distress signal from your world really ought to have been sent when the assault began so the response could be more coordinated.

We've redeployed assets where applicable to ensure Duro has a screen and also dispatched a vessel to help the Republic give chase to these terrorists. However, it seems that with the clearly planned nature of the attack and efficiency of it's execution Duro would be much more likely to get justice against these wretches if it had done more to get help sooner.

From TDF records it should be noted that these ships have been noted in systems within the peripheries of the Unknown Regions such as one on record berthed at Terminus some years ago, and also around the far side of Hutt Space, close to Teth on remote beacons. Furthermore, they've been sighted around Sith Space around a decade ago, this time two ships of the same designation.

Is it possible we are missing something? Aren't the Duros noted explorers.. I'd like to ask frankly if it's possible that the Duros may have explored with too much abandon into the uncharted regions of the galaxy and awoken this sinister threat? Has Duros recently made any major enemies it knows of?
