Gentlebeings

I propose the following

The Lorrdian Law Enforcement Aid Bill

1. The Military Arms Regulatory Bureau and the Judicial Corps will have an Outpost serving also as official Republic Consulate )established on Lorrd at Lorrdian expense.
2. This will consist of of a base with accommodation for 200 Republic officials with it's own landing pads and a number of hangars.
3. The personnel based there permanently would be:

30 Diplomatic Corps Members (including a Chancellorially appointed Consul to the Lorrdian System and his staff)
50 Judicial Corps members (including no less than 10 being Lawyers to provide 24 hour advice to Lorrd on all legal matters - if required) and 10 members of the Republic Office of Criminal Investigations.
20 Republic Arms Regulatory Bureau technological specialists to evaluate any new Lorrdian designs and see if they're in fact appropriate for public sale, and if so which market (Civilian or Military) they could be sold to. They would help Lorrd during design and speed up the process of approval of future Bureau matters.
The remaining space would be open to the use of any other Republic agency which might find its work brings them to Lorrd.

4. We would request that the Jedi Council appoint an official Watchman to Lorrd.

It would be expensive yes. But the Lorrdian Government has systematically failed recently hasn't it Senator? And I want the Republic to be there to help you to ensure there won't be a next time? Surely this is positive for you?

I don't think your world wants or can afford another sad case like Senexgate, can it? The Judicials there will mean youve got legal advice, diplomatic advice just to prevent any unwise actions... Now that the Government fell down so badly... As the Alsakan Media channels all point out, you've not called on the Lords to be replaced with a more egalitarian congress or any form of popular or government despite a couple of them getting convicted for severe crimes.

Even your own people can't be happy with how your government has shamed your world. So wouldn't you prefer there be Judicials there to stop it happening again? Then if there was a failing the Government could be re-evaluated. The matter of the Regulatory Bureau was as a result of their leader contacting me and expressing his wish to review all current designs before the Lorrdian Export license is reapproved after your ban.

You're quite misleading with your words, Senator Kruus. Rest assured it isn't appreciated.

An element of the Lorrdian Government, the Minister of Trade's office, failed. That is not on the entire government. A new staff and Minister are already in place and I am assured they are far better than their predecessors.

If legal or diplomatic advice is needed, the sources on Coruscant are only a HoloNet call away, and trying to slander the Ruling Houses, as well as our government, only makes your case look desperate. As for your source of media? Senator, please. Everyone with half an iota of common sense known you can't believe any Alsakan news at face value. They run the same way Senator Terrawin does: on liberal, single-view thought without care. Despite what you may think, the Ruling Houses still enjoy a very large majority popularity factor; the good they have done for years on end is not tarnished by a solitary slip up.

As for the Republic Arms Bureau, they are more than welcome to review our export designs the way they always have: when they are sent to Coruscant, as they have been in the past, and as of present, everything has been approved.

I am happy to withdraw this if you really wish. But you are closing yourself off to the help the Republic can offer you. If you don't want to ultimately profit from a source of expertise on all kinds of matters (as these local people can be consulted by your Government on anything) and stunt your own development it's your call.

Perhaps the Galaxy would enjoy seeing the videos of the victims of Lorrdian weapons, enslaved children burning by the flames of weapons your world's Government allowed into their hands.

100% of Tyrants in need of atrocity weapons buy Lorrdian.

Kruus, you're a fool if you let the Lorrdians keep on...

Videos of Lorrdian weapons burning by the flames of weapons?

Or do you you mean something else and misspoke?

I might add as well, that half the galaxy uses Lorrdian-made cleaning supplies, construction droids, dental equipment and a number of other items, not including flamethrowers created to burn brush on outback worlds.

Senator Kruus, the point I am making is that what you are trying to propose here is not needed as an actual bill. The same effect can be achieved by contacting the Judicial Office and speaking with their head, as well as the Chancellor. There was no need to bring this to the Senate for need of a vote when it has no bearing on the Senate and is Lorrd-specific.

Yes Senator Lekpin, I forgot, because Lorrd is such a significant economic power in the Galaxy. Come now, don't expose yourself to yet more mockery than serving corrupt despots already does... Lorrd may have a decent university but that's the only reason I and most of the Galaxy has heard of it, whatever else it exports is what it is, but few people outside your region have likely ever heard of let alone bought a Lorrdian product, under my Sector, for example, theyre under embargo totally so that's another one to add to the list.

Senator if you sincerely don't want the Republic's help here, with the stamp of Senate approval as the mark of the Galactic polis caring about Lorrds fate then I will withdraw the motion as you ask. Consider it done.
