| The madness this has caused!!! The serious cut-throat that is happening! Blood trickles on the floor and eventually we will all be able to swim in it! I agree, the Chancellor's actions on some issues could have been better presented, but also, atleast the Chancellor has acted in the name of the GALACTIC REPUBLIC!!!!!!!! However, I will not go down in history as either voting for or against this because as leaders, we all are responsible for what happens in these chambers! We are all elected through the voice of our people, and that voice should be our motivational force to attempt to make the galaxy a better place!!! And that includes for the citizens that harbor this Republic, not for ourselves!!! So at this time, Lantillies abstains from this vote!!!
Senator of Lantillies

| The voices of reason have spoken loud and clear (especially loud in Senator Tu'rot's case): this Vote of No Confidence—at best, a power-hungry political stunt, and at worst, part a campaign of personal revenge—is defeated with only 37.5% in favor and 62.5% against. I am grateful to those Senators who voted against the cynical use of rumors and innuendo to oust an elected Chancellor. Today, the Senate put its faith in democracy and in me. I, too, shall put my faith in democracy and in the Senate, and formally announce that the election I have promised you (but which those of you who voted In Favor apparently couldn't wait for) shall be held on the 25th of next month. Senator Finbar is right—it is time to put these rumors behind us once and for all. Today, with the support of the Senate, I overcame a challenge from the Senator of Alsakan, and with your continued support, I expect to overcome any and all challengers in this election.
But the beginning of this campaign does not mean the end of business as usual in this Senate. Indeed, there is work to do I expect to continue to work with Senators Lekpin, Kongming, Ryuun, Kruus, and everyone else who supported me today in the days, weeks, and indeed months to come.
Jaso Pryce Senator of Metellos and Supreme Chancellor Emeritus Chairman of the Internal Activities Committee Esteemed Member of the Trade Commission
