Two hours passed. Two long hours, which brought the time to about two hours and twenty minutes since the Crusade forces had emerged near Ord Wylan. At last, the surviving fourteen Mules returned, and Rex was ready to launch. Giving the orders to move out of range of Port Wylan and ordering the Basilica to engage in a geosynchronous high orbit over Landing Zone 3, as it had been simply designated. The Action II and Gallofree transports took up a close station nearby, where the guns of the Crusade's capitol vessel could defend them, should the need require. It was likely obvious what the tactic was now but Rex was committed to taking Ord Wylan for Pius Dea. Granted, in his own mind, he was working with substandard troops and vessels.

The first Etti-class transports broke through the atmosphere, flanked by a quartet of TL-1200 transports and the Blended Jade, as well as six of the XX-7 Mules. It was this force that was intended to force a beachhead, so to speak. With the Basilica in orbit to order counter-fire against the Gozanti cruisers when the time came, the first wave was quite unworried about major opposition.

The Dukes voice came tiredly out of the local comms to the Crusade. "Hostile forces, I am prepared to surrender myself and my city to you, if you guarantee my men at arms all be allowed to return to their homes. Allow an hour and all spacecraft of the Cygnus Empire and my Duchy will leave. The garrison will disperse. Please though, no more turbolaser fire so close to my city. I will not convert to your religion but will remain your hostage to oversee the good treatment of my people."

The cloak shapes would begin to retreat to base. The Gozanti cruisers would begin to go skyward too, heading directly to jump away. The Garrison waited, ready to spike their guns and destroy much of their defensive equipment. A White Flag was run up on the Iron Swan sitting against the harbour wall.

The hour asked for was granted and as soon as the Wylanite vessels had departed Ord Wylan, Rex's soldiers made their move. The TL-1200 transports made their move, depositing their cargo of armed faithful, largely the untrained. In perhaps four hours, five thousand soldiers had been deposited, leaving Rex with four-thousand five-hundred of the ill-trained soldiers and five-hundred of the Holy Wardens of the Deity; five-hundred of which he'd sent planetside to assist in the further training of the basic soldiers and to help keep order.

While this was occurring, the Action transports were offloading the minefield in space above Ord Wylan, positioning it to be most effective where possible and generally utilizing it to surround the likely landing fields attacking craft would have to take to assault the planet. Once this task was complete, they would offload the components and allow the faithful to begin erecting the six turbolaser batteries, encircling Ord Wyland and placed to ensure that any attackers would have one hell of a time taking back the port city. In addition, four of the XX-7 Mules were placed, distant from the city, to act as outposts and early warning alerts.

Over the next two days, much occurred. The trio of TC-9 transports were tasked for use on Ord Wylan, allowing the faithful to move quickly, and additionally, the fifty clergymen and fifty repair droids were likely deposited on the world. Rex, along with one of the bishops he'd brought, worked with the Duke, despite the latter's unwillingness, to draw up and sign a treaty, recognizing Ord Wylan as the first world in the Holy Kingdom of the Goddess, recognizing Gerard Rex as the rightful ruler and with the Duke as his plenipotentiary, providing he listened to the orders of the ranking bishop. Likewise, the vessels to be left behind; the quartet of XX-7s and all ten TL-1200s, were declared as defense vessels of the Holy Kingdom.

Once all of this was complete, Rex departed for a return to Eriadu, with the Basilica, ten XX-7s, the pair of Etti transports, the unarmed tender vessels and the remaining soldiers.

"Please no, just don't use hot pliers on my appendages! Il sign whatever you want but don't close those pliers! Take your knife Way from there" would be how his day went. If under any threat of immediate physical harm the Duke would write and sign treaties like a somgbird who could draft treaties.

Anything in front of him was signed.
