I would like to request a modified Action VI Transport to be modified as follows.

  • (3) Retractable Heavy Ion Cannon Turrets
  • (2) Hidden Concussion Missile Launchers
  • (4) Retractable Laser Cannon Turrets
  • Heavy Armor plating
  • Class 1 Hyperdrive
  • Deflector Shield Generator
  • Ray Shielding

I'm willing to Approve this ship with a few caveats, just as things I have noted. Now this is a rather heavily modified ship. Granted, it's not as 'extensively rebuilt' Interceptor-class frigate, to quote the page, and there's the fact that there are certain discrepancies I noted between the stock model and the Wild Karrde (I don't understand how so many additions were made without weakening hull integrity or loss of cargo space), but I digress.

The deflector shield generator and ray shielding, I assume, come standing on any ship equipped with shielding unless mentioned otherwise (refer to the Kaloth-class battlecruiser), and I have no problem with the hyperdrive swap (since I don't believe it takes any more room) and the upgraded plating. However, the turret mounting (especially retractable) for a trio of heavy ion cannons and a quartet of laser cannons (power generators, turret servos, retraction mechanism, etc), as well as a pair of concussion missile launcher (please specify how many warheads per launcher) seem as if they'd make you sacrifice a chunk of cargo space.

I couldn't find anything to state how many metric tons this equipment would take up, but I'd insist on a reduction of cargo room to 50,000 metric tons of carrying space.

Oh, and a profile would be nice to see too, if possible.

I took the time to make a more in depth show of the modifications to the Razor Wind which took into consideration the caveats and concerns as shown above to match it fully to make it more acceptable.

Action VI Transport

Manufacturer: Corellian Engineering Corporation
Product Line: Action Series
Model: Action VI Transport
Class: Bulk Freighter

Technical Specifications

Length: 125m
Hyperdrive Rating: Class 1
Armament:

  • (3) Retractable Heavy Ion Cannon Turrets
  • (4) Retractable Laser Cannon Turrets
  • (2) Hidden Concussion Missile Launchers

    • (4) Concussion Missile Each

Crew: 6
Cargo Capacity: 45,000 metric tons
Consumables: 3 Months
Other Systems: (2) Tractor Beam Projectors

The reasoning behind the retractable and hidden weapons is a call back to a Pirate tactic from the 1600s during the Golden Age of Piracy. This tactic would see the pirates pull their ship along side a merchant vessel (usually without flying a flag, or flying the colors of the merchant ship.) Once close enough the pirate ship would then strike their colors and open fire on the merchant ship at point blank range.

I will also try to get a profile up for Xagar as time allows.

Thank you for the expanded clarification, Xagar; it makes it a lot easier. I do understand the reasoning. I have a source of sorts I draw from for sci-fi RP and I was just trying to work in the recessed and pop-up weaponry and I realized it does take up more room. I'm good with this request as is and I vote to Approve it in full.

There is one final thing I'd like to ask, unfortunately, and largely because there's no image, but would you be so kind as to list the location and firing arcs of the weapons? It makes it easier for combat clarification.

I appreciate it. I intend to be more of a stickler for such details in the future; I also have to remind Lim of the same thing. Once you have a profile up, I'll add your name to the 'Dramatis Personae' of the Hutt Space page.

It's been some time and nobody else has posted on this. For now (barring other management commentary), I'm tentatively approving this for use, following the construction of at least a basic profile (name, personal equipment, etc.) that will at least give other players an interaction point.

And since nobody else has come forth on this, consider it APPROVED.
