Divvying up worlds to non Governments or Supercorporations - I have a mixed opinion.

Caveat: This doesn't apply if you just mean "Control of their criminal economies, or in barely populated worlds the whole schebang"

I don't normally support (since huts are criminals, when did the Mafia want to run the US itself? No profit in it). So here's my opinion in traffic lights. If you just mean controlling the criminal underworld there then its less big a deal.

Tol Amn - No problem with this one and the next they're hardly populated so you could probably grind them into the ground and rule them.

Jilrua - No problem, <million guys and some cold rocks this time.

Boonda's Moon - Wookieepedia appears to indicate its unpopulated until the Galactic Civil War or becomes uninhabited. This needs pinning down as to if its just a rock (sure no Hutt wants rocks, noone would fight you for it). UPDATE (raised my bold writing to red from yellow): Boonda is alive and probably hasn't even discovered it yet (he turns from being a criminal at some unspecified point), he's alive by the Rebellion era - are you intending to claim him as head of your clan because its the only way I see him leaving the industry he worked hard to build (with like one droid helping). He's deposed by R2-D2 and C-3P0 (you couldn't make this up) by which time he's the only organic left ruling over some work droids in his factories.

This is in 5.5 BBY - he would appear to just be building on the world he discovered and seems to be pretty poorly known... dont see him giving it up while he still has forces (since he discovered it and it's named after him). Also theres noone there to deal drugs to.. so its not the best choice I'd argue to have in your faction.

Toydaria - No bueno if you ask me? Why? It's got enough power to ignore Huttese neutrality and support the Republic in what, 2 years? They're a Protectorate not a subject of Nal Hutta, Nal Hutta is governed by the Hutt Grand Council. I don't see why a clan which has lost all of it's wealth would be given new wealth by actual power over the world. I dont think though that they're really doing anything to actually influence the world overmuch, think about it! I'm not sure you could even really say you control the crime there to a great extent, since Non-Toydarians find it horribly unfriendly.. if a human or hutt stood on the floor there giant flesh eating worms bite your legs off (not a joke). It's also worth nothing, it runs subsistence level agriculture.

To quote on the above: "the Hutt had little interest in occupying the world's stagnant wastes and instead set-up a feudal system whose vassals answered to the Hutts. Setting up an agriculture-based economy, Toydaria thrived as its population increased, surviving monsoons and widespread fungal diseases throughout their history. Establishing a rail system to connect their swamp-bound cities, all air traffic was restricted to priority Hutt transportation due to safety concerns on a planet where the natives flew naturally.[2]

While maintaining a good relation with their Hutt superiors, the Toydarians stayed out of most galactic events, having little contact with the Galactic Republic through its wars and conflicts. During the Republic's final conflict, theClone Wars, King Katuunko entered into an agreement with the Republic, allowing them to build a base within Toydarian territory."

So they defied Hutt policy and were able to do so, that implies Hutt rule was weak or he was following Jabba who had been consistently vaguely pro Republic. Realistically I think it's just left alone because it's another heap of filth with hostile wildlife. But its clearly relatively autonomous and is clearly stated to be under the Grand Council in notional slavery.

Basically. I think Toydaria really ought to stay where it is - it's economy is negligible so its criminal economy must be even less. Being offered to rule there could only cause you to lose money.

Tattooine had value for the people who moved through it, the world itself is worthless without an economy to be a parasite on - which is what criminals do. Also bear in mind Jabba runs his own Sector.. so you might want to pick taking over sections of more worthwhile worlds rather than controlling whole worthless ones.

Huttese "Loyalty, service or other fealty"

In any "alignment" "alliance" "service arrangement" etc with the Hutts it should be realized that they're not likely to remain loyal (if they ever were) - Huttese self interest matters more than oaths or contracts. Look at Jabba and Gardulla's family and actual open war!!

They'll serve you while its profitable and theres no better offer. If Jabba offered any one of those clans a billion to go to war against you today they would do it without question.

But I think you realize this by stating you are just with them for yourself as Malum.. so why haven't they just gone and asked Jabba to influence them to get say, Toydaria. He's literally running a Sector. Frankly, the Huttese families fight within just as much as without. Look at Ziro the Hutt.

Bear in mind, Jabba is (by new canon produced in Clone Wars overruling older books) Jabba now completely dominates both the Cartel and the Council, its his view which is followed.. If the big opposers of him have taken to avoid cocking a snook is it awfully wise to unite three of his enemies ... black sun stuff aside?

On doing Black Sun business in Hutt Space: Like lighting a cigarette while soaked in gasoline...

It's stated Black Sun had little to do with Hutt space apart from a drug source. Trying to expand there (when you'll be executed in a second if anyone found out - and I dont think a staff of 150 can avoid blabbing) youd end up in a sticky end if you were seen inviting rivals into Hutt Cartel space - which would mean the entire criminal element of Hutt Society (the rich bit) would turn on him.

Is your guy open about his membership of the moment? Presumably not bearing in mind how huge is and how wormed with various spies it is stated to be at times.

They're just inefficient.

My OOC request thoughts ain't a dig at you by the way old boy. It's just me critically evaluating what I see to the best of my ability and hopefully help everyone play things like the canon says they are.

Research on requests and scrutiny stops them too. I dont like having my work criticized often and I am not targeting yourself. Adam is the one who's requests have earned most of my "ire" over the years... Basically I am bringing an alternative view (often a fairly research based one), dont take it as an attack just what you need in a good and healthy democracy, debate and involvement by everyone in society!
