History
Commissioned in 72 BBY, in a second purchase of Dreadnaught-class Heavy Cruisers ordered by the outgoing Supreme Chancellor of the time, who launched a massive expansion of the Judicial Forces, Centurion has had a storied career. Initially committed to several police actions against Hutt elements that were outside of Hutt Space, in an effort to push the Hutts back into Hutt Space, or at least off of Republic member worlds and interests in the Outer Rim, it later found itself in the largest engagement with the Mandalorians since the Mandalorian Excision. During the later Mandalorian Civil War, it was part of a Task Force assigned to Mandalorian Space to ensure the conflict the did not spill out into Republic Space.
It spent the next several years backing up the Consular-class Space Cruiser Perihelion in diplomatic assignments, providing security should incidents get out of hand and general ambassadorial protection. The duo of ships later served in the Stark Hyperspace War in the wave of reinforcements that ended the war and later demilitarized the Stark Combine, the Yinchorri Uprising, and again were assigned together in several missions follow the Blockade of Naboo to demilitarize the Trade Federation under Jedi Master Vernon Daine.
In between these notable actions were several missions against pirates and mercenary bands on the Outer in a futile attempt to bring order to the lawless. That mission continues today; assigned to the Republic Outland Regions Security Force, with it's patrol focus alternating between the areas around and in Hutt Space, while being based out RORSF Headquarters, and assignment to the Raioballo Sector, on monthly intervals. When making port at Eriadu, the Centurion is also assigned in reserve to the Judicial Forces in the Chommell Sector, providing heavy combat capabilities to the otherwise light force.
