| "Master Tching to the bridge, please," a soft-spoken voice was heard throughout the Luminosity, "Master Tching to the bridge."
The many suns of Anx Space could be seen outside the sweeping viewport of the ship's bridge. Nav Towani stood there, at the viewport, admiring the view. Ithorians had an intrinsic appreciation of natural beauty, and the majesty of space was never lost upon Towani, even though he'd seen many such views of many such places. If not for his appreciation of the small things in life, Towani would be a sad being indeed; he'd been the captain of an Ithorian herdship for many decades, throughout which many promising members of the herd had been contributed to the Jedi Order, including Towani's son and daughter, both of whom achieved distinction in the Order and later perished in its service.
The gentle Towani had been heart-broken at the loss of his children and fell into a depression that alarmed other members of his herd, who contacted Coruscant on his behalf. To honor his contribution to the Order, Towani was appointed Captain of the Luminosity, where his spirits were lifted by the many promising, young students—like his own son and daughter—who graced the ship over the years.
His position on the ship was mostly an honorary one. The small bridge crew were all that Towani had at his disposal; the Jedi Masters ran the ship itself, and even set its course. Towani was content with this, comfortable admitting that the wisdom of the learned Masters exceeded his own. Sun Tching was one such Jedi Master, and the latest to be assigned to the Luminosity as its new lightsaber instructor. Towani had summoned him to the bridge to get acquainted with him.

| His preferred method of meditation was through levitation. Dramatic, perhaps, but it seemed to relax him more to have zero physical contact with the world when he sunk himself into the Force. Due to his training, and perhaps his personality, he never fully sank into the Force, always leaving a mental connection. This back-channel connection allowed him to hear the page over the intercom.
He ripped himself out of his trance and slowly settled his feet on the ground. He walked over to the now cold tea he had been drinking and finished the cup; meditation always had the effect of making his thirsty. After taking some moments to become fully alert and aware, he grabbed his cloak and put it on as he exited his quarters. While it had only been a day since he had come aboard, it was likely to take some time for him to become adjusted to the Luminosity versus the Jedi Temple. The quarters were vaguely similar, enough to keep the mind feeling it was in the Temple, but the contrast to the hallway jarred one's self as they exited their room.
It was a short journey up to the bridge, the Master quarts being just below the command section. It was a short walk down a hallway, a turbolift ride up, a walk through the medical section, and then another turbolift ride up which opened up directly on the bridge. He glanced quickly before finding the Ithorian standingby the viewport. He folded his arms into his sleeves as he walked up to Captain Towani, having kept his hood down, and greeted him. "Captain Nav Towani, I am Jedi Master Sun Tching."

| Towani turned to face Tching as the Jedi Master stepped onto the bridge. "Master Tching," he rumbled, speaking a thickly-accented Basic through his two mouths and four throats in the unusual, stereophonic way that Ithorians sounded. He bowed his large head formally to Tching, then extended a long-fingered hand to shake his. "I am Nav Towani, Captain of the good ship Luminosity. I welcome you aboard, Master Jedi. It is an honor to meet you." Towani spoke rather ponderously, so the greeting felt longer than it was.
The Captain stepped aside and gestured sweepingly to the bridge viewport. "I didn't want to disturb you, Master Jedi—they said you were meditating. But we arrived in Anx Space one standard hour ago. But this isn't the reason I asked you here," he explained, "I wanted you to know that my crew and myself are at your disposal any time, Master Tching. I also wanted to inquire about your accommodations; your quarters are satisfactory, I hope?" Tching had been assigned to one of the Master's quarters which, Tching had been correct to notice, closely resembled what he was accustomed to on Coruscant. The ship was as spacious on the inside as it looked on the outside, too. In fact, it was easy to forget that one was even on a ship. The Luminosity was hundreds of years old, but the Jedi Order had never spared any expense keeping the ship renovated to modern standards.

| After Captain Towani's slow greeting, he bowed his head towards the Ithorian. "Thank you, Captain," he replied simply, following which he joined the Captain at the viewport. He was genuinely impressed by the Ithorian's ability to speak basic, a feat for his species; or so he believed, anyways. After all these years, looking out t the stars from deep space still amazed him; and he noted that being this far out, if one looked the proper direction, they could make out the shape of the galaxy among it all. It was an experience unlike any other, and certainly put the scale of it all into perspective.
"When I am needed, you are well within your rights to disturb me. You were right to do so, Captain," he said, attempting to comfort the Ithorian on his presence. He was hoping to be as involved with the crew as possible, and open to them. He did not see why so many 'normal' beings seemed fearful or intimidated by the Jedi, but he also did not concern himself on the matter. It was something he had noticed throughout his travels, but did not expect on this ship. "I thank you, for your service and that of your crew; and yes, the living quarters are satisfactory." He paused for a moment, lost in thought as he stared at out at the stars. "You have given me a far warmer welcome than I anticipated, so I do apologize if I seem a bit... off-balance," he said, returning his thoughts to the resent after an indeterminate amount of time spent pondering.
"Tell me, Captain, what should I expect during my time aboard?"

| Towani was taken somewhat aback by the question, and thought for a long moment about how to answer (an Ithorian had no compunction about this). Having lost both a son and a daughter in the service of the Jedi Order, the Order had become Towani's life. He was dedicated to serving the cause his children had died for, but he did so in his own way; he knew his post on the Luminosity was (mostly) ceremonial, and he considered himself a facilitator for the Masters aboard. That Tching sought his advice for a change was a surprise, but a pleasant one. The Masters seldom called upon his decades of experience at the helm of the Luminosity and, before it, an Ithorian herdship. Ever modest, Towani had become accustomed to being deferential.
"Well," the Ithorian said, "The Luminosity has had no major incidents over the last one-half standard year. No injuries except for a minor burn during a training spar and a single case of Cantrosian-scratch fever. The ship was refurbished in year nine and I judge it to be in excellent operating condition. Under the circumstances—and under your leadership, Master Tching—it's not unreasonable to expect 'smooth sailing,' as you say in Basic."
"Barring any unforeseen events, of course."
