Indeed, Devin did have one of his dual-phase lightsabers hanging openly on the left of his belt. What Karth couldn't see was the second lightsaber, attached by a clever contraption inside Devin's sleeve to his right wrist, designed with a flick to drop the weapon into his hand, or the T-6 heavy blaster at the back of Devin's waist. What Devin knew of this man as he introduced himself as Karth De'Qora was... well, nothing. Anonymity and numbers protected Karth at face-to-face meetings just as it did Devin. Still, formalities seemed best to offer and play along, and Devin had spent long enough in the Temple on Coruscant to know what was necessary.

"That would explain why I can't place you. The Luminosity. My name is Devin Rel'kom, a Knight from Coruscant." The brief inclination of Devin's head was returned. "What brings you to Anx Minor, if I might ask? It's not the most Jedi-friendly of worlds, I feel."

Devin gave Karth a once-over as he approached, scanning as well for weaponry that might be seen. It was hard to judge, but the man had clear height on Devin, though perhaps a similar weight; Devin could not be sure.

A fight would be inconvenient, given the situation. Karth was never one to walk into a potential combat situation blind, much less one with another Force user such as himself. Truth be told the events on Bellassa had made him a bit gun-shy, these days. Losing so much in those circumstances had led him to question a great number of things, and it was only just recently that he'd been able to find any faith. Whether that newfound faith was in himself, the Force, or something else entirely was still an unknown to him.

He quietly circled around Devin, expression and demeanor casual and pleasant, arms folded in front of his chest. He projected an air of confidence, outward assurance and his typical gentle nature. That wasn't to say he couldn't fight when pressed, he was certainly a capable duelist. But why expend the energy, especially on an unknown quantity such as Devin here. He didn't believe much of the boy's story, outside of the fact that he was a Jedi, but you couldn't fool an investigator with his wit.

"Data retrieval," he answered with a well-practiced smile, continuing to encircle the other. "Just some archive records needed copying, double-checking, the ship's Librarian asked it of me. And yourself?"

Devin certainly didn't like the way the other Jedi was circling him. It made him feel off-balance as he continually turned to keep Karth in frontal view. It was a disconcerting tactic and Devin did his best to keep his worry off his face and away from his feelings and thoughts. "Sounds like a routine sort of thing," he replied with slightly forced cheerfulness. "As for me? Something along the same lines." Quickly. A lie. Something. Anything. "Some research about the Anx themselves. Don't know why they said it was so secretive, but they decided to send a minor Knight because I was likely to draw less attention than, well, one of the Masters."

In Devin's ears, it sounded like a lame conclusion, but he was hoping to be convincing enough. He did, however, manage to take advantage of Karth's incessant circling to back away towards the door, breaking free when Karth came around what had been his rear side before his brief backpedaling would mean that Karth would have to make an awkward movement to keep up the maneuver. "I wish you all the best though, Knight De'Qora. I hear the Luminosity is a beautiful ship. Perhaps one day I shall be stationed there."

It was, indeed, an incredibly 'lame' conclusion. But contrary to popular belief, Jedi could be tremendously effective liars when the situation called for it. Karth especially, his youthful exuberance and somewhat-gawkish features often provided the casual observer to a false image of the young man. The efficacy being that he appeared, for all intents and purposes, a far more naive and inexperienced youth than he was in all actuality. It was an unintentional benefit in his line of work, so he'd chosen to allow it to work when the situation felt appropriate. Now was one such time, and in response to the flimsy excuse for this 'Jedi' being there, the young De'Qora simply flashed a goofy smile and nodded.

"Well you know them, Devin. Love to send us lesser-being to do all their fetch errands for them." His shoulders slouched, that lanky frame shrinking back just a bit in a subconscious display for a mutual, agreeable split from this conversation. Now was not the time nor the place for a prolonged fight, and he had far more questions than he was comfortable with. He'd take note of things, do a bit of digging perhaps, and continue on from there. He offered the stranger a polite nod, canting his head towards the floor in a respectful bow, though his eyes never left the man.

"You aren't kidding," Devin offered as ruefully as he could manage. Talking time had extended too far and Devin needed to be gone, back to the safety of his transport. "I wish you the best of luck, Karth. Hopefully at some point in the future, we can meet up. If you can recommend a transfer for me to the Luminosity, I'd be ever in your debt." With a small grin that Devin felt was disarming, he turned to depart. The sooner he was back at the starport, the sooner he could get out and on his way. There were still more worlds within the sector to search, and if the Luminosity was indeed cruising around Raioballo, then it had become a dangerous place indeed for Devin to be working in. Nonetheless, he had his task.

He watched Devin leave, resting against a marble column and waiting until the 'Jedi' was out of sight (and earshot) before he turned his disbelieving gaze on R0-B0, the re-purposed medical droid hovering in similarly-awkward silence. "Did you buy any of that?" He asked the droid before permitting himself a smirk. He made no effort to pursue Devin, in the off-chance he was, in fact, on a mission for the Council Karth would rather avoid that ear-chewing. So, as any good investigator should, he resolved to.. investigate.

"His stress levels and vocal fluctuations were within accepted differentials, no clear indicators of false answers," the droid conceded with an almost-disheartened inflection.

"He can use the Force. We're good at lying."

"I'll add that to my data banks regarding you Jedi."

"See that you do," the Jedi answered with a chuckle, patting the droid on the cranium before he turned on a heel, making for the closest library staffer he could find. If anything, Devin wouldn't have had time to wipe all traces of his presence entirely, and with luck Karth just might be able to glean what exactly it was Rel'kom had been so secretive about. And if not, well, the fact that he would have deleted any trace of a simple search might be suspicion enough to warrant further involvement.

By the time Devin was offworld and the Old Beatdown was likely entering hyperspace, Karth would indeed have some answers, of a kind. Devin had asked the Anx not to speak of what he was researching on the premise of 'Council business.' While this may or may not have persuaded the data-keepers to remain quiet, Karth would no doubt be able to 'persuade' a few to speak.

If Karth was willing and able to put in the time and research to backtrack Devin's path, he find the man had been looking for the path of an old vessel through the Raioballo Sector; a leftover from the ancient Sith in the form of a Harrower-class dreadnought. Unfortunately, even the information Devin had received had been inconclusive, pointing only towards other worlds within the sector.
