As I told Jace, I'm willing to give the show a shot. I'll agree that so far in the opening Movie and first aired episode, there has been some animation troubles and designs (mainly the Wookiees that we see in Spark of Rebellion), however, when you compare it to the first season of Clone Wars we see similar problems. With it being the first new official canon we are getting, it may even serve to expand the otherwise sparse lore of the period between 19 BBY to 1 BBY.
I also found it to be a bit more refreshing and a relief to not be bombarded by a massive 'The Galaxy is in Turmoil and only this group of super specially trained warriors and their army of Clones can do anything' mentality that the Clone Wars series had. I'm looking forward to see how they develop Kanan as a character due to him being a Jedi Padawan that survived Order 66 and took up a blaster and locked away his Lightsaber.
What I found interesting is that some of the designs are based off of the original concept art done for the first Star Wars trilogy. I also enjoyed that the Executive Producer stated that Sabine not only wears Mandalorian Armor, she is in fact a Mandalorian.
Who knows, so far we've only seen the first three episodes and it's already been renewed for a second season before Spark of Rebellion was aired. There's even going to be a special extended scene added to Spark of Rebellion that has Darth Vader with James Earl Jones voicing him for the ABC special broadcast on Sunday October 26th.
For now, I will keep in my mentality (which is the same I have for Episode 7 coming in 2015). I am willing to give it a shot and not pass judgement until further down the line when I see more. With any show, I'm sure it will have its ups and downs.Added (21 October 14, 0:57 AM)
