Providing it's a single-use rocket, one on either side, and can't be reused during the same battle, I'd be okay with it.

As a note in the future to prevent the problems, would you be willing to list items on such as these on your ship(s) under a different subsection? Possibly like an 'additional equipment' sort of thing since it doesn't really fit in terms of engine power.

As a note, the solid fuel required to make a ship this size move that fast would be rather enormous, I would think, and unless the fuel is stored internally, doesn't it also present a very tempting target, not to mention the damage to the ship if it was exploded?

You may want to bring Jace into this one, jut for his opinion, but I would worry about structural integrity if it were used to make that swift of a turn, so as to be able to get a corvette from off its back. Most corvettes are pretty nimble.

Well, fuel isn't always volatile to exploding when hit by turbolasers? If I shoot at a gas tanker with an AK47 it's not likely to blow up the gas etc. I don't think a simple pivot (especially assisted by a thruster each end) would take up that much energy. Doing it quickly should be an -extreme- maneuver and should perhaps strain the hull somewhat. But it's not like I propose it turning on a dime. Just quick enough to confront a corvette pursuing a half dozen clicks behind. Or even to be honest you could just fire it and keep the vessel spinning to give it a good all around defense.

I'm talking a turn in less than 30 seconds being an extreme maneuver available in emergencies. Not a 1 second flip like I would be okay with fighters performing. A spinning approach would actually be a logical way for a ship with vulnerable ends to approach combat in any case but such contingencies are never imagined in 3d and no amount of inertial dampening would make the idea not induce motion sickness among most laymen.

But we can just drop the subsystem if it's problematic or holding things up, as a multiplicity of technicalities always seem to on Mike's watch!

Consider it dropped.

Approved, and I'll close it up fully if you'd be so kind as to go back and finalize the edits on the initial request.
