I'd like to request the pacifist "New Mandalorian" faction in control of the planet Mandalore during this time period. The New Mandalorians also control Mandalore's moon, Concordia (essentially an Australia-style penal colony for fundamentalist "True Mandalorians"), and the planet Kalevala. Artemis Vanden would be the Duke of Kalevala and of New Mandalorian space and duly-appointed (by his own cabinet) Mand'alor—historically, the cultural ruler of the Mandalorian people (obviously disputed by the True Mandalorians). The New Mandalorian government would have control of all major industry on the planet Mandalore with the exception of MandalMotors headquarters in the planet's "traditional capital" of Keldabe, though nonetheless subject to New Mandalorian taxation. MandalMotors (and off-shoots Mandal Hypernautics, etc.) would serve both the "New" and "True" Mandalorians in a neutral fashion, under neither of their control.

Artemis Vanden would also be the Senator of the Mandalore Sector (rather than having to go through the application process. I'd rather have Artemis already established so I get started right away).

MILITARY FORCES
(Just because they're pacifists doesn't mean they're pushovers. New Mandalorian ideology permits robust self defense. The ships I'm requesting, however, are not particularly well-armed).

■ 3 Keldabe-class Battleships (w/out mass driver cannons and "shield leecher" weapon)
w/ 108 Davaab-type starfighters)

■ 4 Crusader-class Corvettes

■ General use of Aka'jor-class shuttles and Teroch-type gunships

■ 1 Golan Space Defense SpaceGun
(Wookieepedia says they were "first built during the waning years of the Galactic Republic," and I think 92 BBY can qualify as the Republic's "waning years" considering it has existed for 25,000+ years and will only exist for 73 more. Note I use the original name for the platform—"SpaceGun"—assuming it's a new design and wouldn't be called "Golan 1" as the others don't exist yet).

w/ 36 Davaab-type starfighters
w/ redundant shielding to withstand occasional missile launches ("potshots") from True Mandalorian insurgents on the planet's surface (3,200 SBD increased to 6,400—only while weaponry is not in use. 4½ minutes to fully charge).

MANDALORIAN GUARD
(Police/internal security force for all nominally New Mandalorian-controlled territories. From Wookieepedia: "The Mandalorian police were armed with tonfa-like stun batons, fitting their role as maintainers of security. Nevertheless, the Mandalorian Guard also had access to more damaging weapons, such as WESTAR-35 blaster pistols and BT X-42 flamethrowers, for occasions that required increased force").

■ ∞ Mandalorian Policemen
■ ∞ Buirk'alor-class airspeeders (common modification: 1 ion cannon)
■ ∞ Aka'jor-class shuttles
■ ∞ Mandalorian Royal Guardsmen to protect the Duke/Duchess and his or her family members and associates.
■ ∞ Mandalorian Secret Servicemen for clandestine operations that don't meet pacifistic New Mandalorian standards.

P.S. Jaron has expressed an interest in RPing the "True Mandalorians." I don't think anything in my request prevents him from doing so.

Artemis Vanden
Ambassador of Mandalorian Space
Duke of Kalevala, New Mandalore, and the New Mandalorian Territories
Duly-appointed Mand'alor ("leader") of the Mandalorian People

Going to get this request out of the way because, for reasons that are probably obvious, I'm quite familiar with this request and I have no problems with it. APPROVED.

(For those of you who are curious, there will be additional managers soon. It's just kind of a moot point until we have enough activity to warrant it).

(Also as you can see I'm dropping the huge, annoying "Approved" sign for requests and going back to the old style. The huge "Approved" sign was too much work, and too huge. And annoying).
