| Chancellor Kruus,
We now know what was widely-suspected at the time of the Kerubielite attack on the planet Duro; that your son, Brian Kruus, a Rear-Admiral of the Trade Federation Defense Force, is deserving of recognition for his life-saving conduct during that attack. I regret not being able to award him the Chancellor's Service Medal in my final days as Chancellor, as the facts from Duro weren't entirely in at that time. I contend nonetheless that such recognition is "better late than never," and to avoid any appearance of favoritism by one Kruus for another, I have included below my testimony as a former Chancellor as to the exemplary conduct of your son. It reads as follows:
"During the recent Kerubielite attack on Duro, Rear Admiral Brian Kruus of the Trade Federation Defense Force responded promptly and selflessly to merchant distress signals from the planet. Having arrived at Duro too late to stop the Kerubielites, who had inflicted significant damage to the Durosian vessels Dassid and Kadlo, at significant loss of life, Admiral Kruus nonetheless displayed exemplary initiative as he dispatched rescue teams to the Dassid and Kadlo and an engineering squad to Jivv City, also damaged in the attack. The actions of Admiral Kruus and the Trade Defense Force prevented further loss of life on the crippled Durosian ships, and his timely presence at Duro likely deterred any further attacks by Kerubielite raiders emboldened by their success against the Duro Defense Force. Indeed, Admiral Kruus's conduct is especially commendable in comparison to the disorganized, inattentive efforts of the Duro Defense Force which, despite having superior tonnage to the attacking ships, proved helpless to stop them."
