The hour is late. Your actions have been unwise and some might cite certain legal problems with them...
If you are willing to resign the Chancellory Honourably, for the sake of your dignity. We will see to the preservation of your reputation and dignity so far as we are able.
We would support you remaining as Metellos Senator, We would be willing to welcome Metellos into our corporate affiliation group and see to it you and your world maintain their standing and grant you generous sinecures and positions within the Trade Federation as an honoured trade partner.
The worlds affiliated with the Major Corporations will likely put up a candidate for Senator and we believe if you do agree to resign by choice and vote for the appropriate Corporate supported replacement, he would be minded to grant you a full Chancellorial pardon, making this whole business water under the bridge...

| Senator Cynum,
That's cute, Prentiss. You'd like me to resign, wouldn't you? Because I broke the Trade Federation voting bloc. I have a feeling your shareholders are as upset with you as they are with me. You're the one who advised the Board to "cut its losses" with me. That was bad advice, Prentiss. You and the Trade Federation engineered this whole scandal to try to bring me down. You didn't succeed then, and you won't succeed now. And I want you to know that when you lose this confidence vote, I might just go to the Board with this proposal of yours, but with one addendum: fire Prentiss Cynum.
You don't scare me, man. My Chancellory has been good for Metellos, and my people are grateful. If Metellos is the only planet in the Republic where I poll over fifty percent when this is all over, that'll be good enough for me. So if you don't want Jaso Pryce as an enemy standing in the way of your designs on Metellosian industry (and I don't think you do), you will abstain from this confidence vote in the Senate. Not that I think it stands much of a chance. Terrawin is too greedy: he put something in the motion for everyone to disagree with. He even rambles on about Eriadu (Eriadu!—one of the handful of issues where the Senate actually agrees with me!).
I'm not asking for your support, Prentiss. But if your delegation abstains, there's a possibility you could come out of this with your reputation and dignity intact.

| Jaso. Forget your wrath, I urge you.
Jaso, what have you to be wrathful for? None of us have actively sought to actively foster opposition to you.
What of your anger? who has done you wrong among the Federation?
Accept the benevolence of these good corporates.
We have considered your proposal. We offer you a better one and apologise for seeming to insult you.
We will guide the Corporate Bloc to make any vote aside from in favour of the Motion of No Confidence. This will allow you to call open elections as you avowedly intend to, with what will become a vote of Confidence in your term.
In return we propose
You solemnly undertake to set a date for elections which shall be no later than 14 days after the Vote of Confidence closes.
You accept the honour of a Trade Barony, the job of Trade Naib to the Metellos System and remain as Senator of (we agreed you've been a good Senator to Metellos), but with these new heavy responsibilities you would of course be too committed elsewhere and so not stand for Chancellor at the forthcoming election. In addition, after the election, if you feel you could cope with the responsibility, we would offer you the rank of Price Administration Vizier for the Alsakan Sector, if you felt you were able to take such a role in addition to your other responsibilities.
We further propose
You advocate for and support our corporate nomination for the Chancellory. In return, once elected Chancellor this Individual will be committed to granting you a full pardon for any crimes you may be scurrilously have been accused of, for all crimes that may or may not have been committed hitherto, thus all imvestigations would thus be dropped.
The Corporate nominee would also immediately see that Director Royce Thompson be re-distributed to a different role within the Galactic Republic Government, the role of Sector Ranger for the Raioballo Sector has been proposed as a suitable position?
You'd further be given a seat on the Senatorial Council after the corporate nominee was elected and a seat on the Trade Commission six months thereafter. Furthermore, the Trade Federation would name one of its larger freighters "The Chancellor Pryce" in your personal honour.
Also, you would receive an in-person or handwritten apology for any offence caused from Senator Cynum.
(Unsigned)Added (29 March 14, 12:32 PM) --------------------------------------------- It seems something resembling the desired outcome has come from this.
I applaud your political skill.
Have you considered our offer?

| To (Presumed) Emissary of the Trade Federation Directorate,
I find your proposal agreeable. I have never considered the Trade Federation an enemy. The Directorate was no doubt advised that I was no longer an effective advocate for the interests of the Trade Federation, and it acted accordingly. However, it should be apparent by now that the Directorate received poor advice. It's never been my desire to work at cross-purposes with the Federation, but in doing so over the past several months I think I've demonstrated that I am effective. Now, with the Vote of No Confidence behind us, I am prepared to be useful to the Trade Federation once more.
No apology from Prentiss is necessary. With the violence I've done to his voting bloc, I can't stay mad at the poor man. Having withstood the Vote of No Confidence with 62% of the Senate supporting me, I suppose it would be customary for me to stand for re-election. However, I find your job opportunity to be preferable; I'm tired of having to defend myself from the sanctimony of Alsakan (though I'm quite capable of doing so). Price Administration Vizier for the Alsakan Sector doesn't interest me, though. The fewer encounters with Verence Terrawin, the better. That said, the Senate is where I can be most useful, maintaining the Federation voting bloc which, truly, is the least I can do. Trade Baron is good too. Trade Naib of the Metellos System is good, as long as we don't call it "Naib" (that wouldn't play well on Metellos).
Needless to say, these job responsibilities would consume much of my time and would additionally present a conflict of interest for a Supreme Chancellor, and so I would have no choice but to withdraw from the race. Under such circumstances, I would enthusiastically support the Trade Federation's preferred candidate for Chancellor. A pardon is desirable, provided that no admission of guilt is required. I can more effectively advocate for the Trade Federation and its agenda without an SBI or Jedi investigation to distract me. Also, I'm looking forward to being on hand for the christening of the Chancellor Pryce-class of freighters.
I'm putting my name to this letter. Make sure that Prentiss gets it. He's your point man and he does a good job for you. I'm willing to put my differences with him aside and correspond with him on this. He and I have worked together before and I'm willing to do so again.
Yours sincerely,
Jaso Pryce Senator of Metellos and Supreme Chancellor Emeritus Chairman of the Internal Activities Committee Esteemed Member of the Trade Commission

| Your acceptance is cheerfully welcomed. And an affidavit is on its way to you guaranteeing the tenants of this agreement; pending your non-disclosure of the agreement, this conversation etc
Likewise, the Federation would like to request that while effective and popular, you remain distinct from us during the next election. Our candidate may use displeasing language about previous Administrations, but this is par for the course and in order to alleviate your having to listen to such nonsense, as a retirement gift and to thank you for your Chancellorial service the Trade Federation will be granting you the gift of a PL-90 Luxury Speeder to your own custom specifications, so that once we work with you in a corporate capacity you might magnify and reflect the wealth the Federation both has and promotes in all worlds.
