Summary of Jedi Council Deliberations
■ The Council resolved to suspend indefinitely the induction of any sub-adult residing in the Seswenna Sector into the Jedi Order without the knowledge or consent of his, her, or its parents, if and whenever possible. While the Order shall, in the interest of public safety and the welfare of the child, retain custody of any sub-adult that is or has previously been in the Order's custody or protection, the Council expressed its desire to respect the concerns of the parents of Eriadu on this issue and hopes that the Acquisition Division's temporary suspension of this practice will help the Galactic Senate to resolve those concerns to the satisfaction of the people of the Seswenna Sector.
In other deliberations:
■ The Council accepted the invitation of Governor Tarkin of Eriadu to establish an Academy to serve the people of the Seswenna Sector. Master Kadek was selected to be Headmaster of the new institution, which shall have a charter renewable on a 10-year basis after an initial 1-year observation period. The Council deferred a decision on whether lightsaber instruction shall take place at the Seswenna Academy to next month's session.
■ The Council approved a proposal by Master Rancisis to donate 25,000 tons of foodstuffs from its AgriCorps storehouse on Ord Grovner to the famine-plagued world of Telos IV. The Council also offered the assistance of 15 agricultural specialists from the AgriCorps to the government of Telos IV to assist in the fertilization of crops.
■ The Council approved a proposal by Master Tyvokka to loan the Jedi Justice Cruiser Perlemian Sunrise to the Exploration Corps for use in its survey mission of the Degan Gas Clouds, due to rumors of a "ghost ship" or "dimensional creature" in the uncharted region.
■ The Council approved a contract with Kuat Systems Engineering for the delivery of 40 additional CloakShape-variant "Whitecloak" fighters to the Jedi Order.
■ The Council appointed Master Kadek to be the Jedi Order's formal representative to the Eriadu convention.
■ The Council considered a proposal by Master Van Zant to promote species diversity in high-ranking Jedi positions, noting that both he and the previous Master of the Order, Sun Tching, are both Human males. The Council agreed to defer action on the issue until next month's session.
■ The Council denied a petition from Jedi Knight Cerulian to make Sith-related documents in the Holocron Vaults available to non-Council members for research purposes.
■ Additional content and minutes of Council meetings available in the Jedi Archives.
