Dear Chancellor Pryce,

Guess what I did today?

I discovered that a subject on my world was speaking ill of my rule. He was talking of "Republican Values" and how we needed to be a free world within your Republic. I've never been a fan of Republics, it always seems a dreadfully silly system where you buy yourself rich. Even our corpulent neighbours the Hutts do not hide behind pretentions such as rights. There is no right, there is no truth, there is no justice, I have disassembled many men and never have I dug out from some gurgling organ a molecule of justice or an atom of truth. Only in accepting this can you become free. This is what I told him, he told me he was willing to suffer and die for freedom.

Suffering is so exquisite. He now resides in a warm tank of bacta. I have a machine sticking acid coated needles into every one of the forty five miles of nerve endings his skin has. I hope one day, in his hot endless agony, maybe in half a century or so, he finds true enlightenment.

In any case, I send you another painting.

I hope you enjoy it. It's of my first son. Of course he betrayed me and thought he should rule. He's turned out nicely now I taught him his lesson and removed him from the succession.

Yours in friendship

Lord Temeluchus Kerubiel
