| Senator,
We had a deal. I very specifically delegated to the Senate my Section 5, Article 9 authority to appoint Chairman Faris' replacement on the Judiciary Committee—in case you forgot, the Senate chose you for this job—on the condition that your first order of business would be Admiral Oswaldt's confirmation hearing to be Commandant of the Judicial Forces. Admiral Pendergast has been retired for over a month now, and since that time the Judicial Forces have had no leader.
I appreciate that Admiral Oswaldt's hearing could still be your "first order of business" because thus far you've had no orders of business whatsoever, and done nothing as Chairbeing of the Judiciary Committee (not even appointing any other members of the Committee). But I expected the Admiral's hearing to be conducted promptly. In case you haven't noticed—and at this point it wouldn't surprise me if you haven't—there is a seemingly imminent collapse of law and order in the Seswenna Sector that could necessitate the use of the Judicial Forces. If you want to make your Committee into a symbol of everything that's wrong with the Republic bureaucracy, that's fine—the Senate chose you, not me. But the Judicial Forces need a Commandant, and if you don't see to it promptly I'll assume that you're refusing to do so and your appointment as Chairbeing will be null and void.
If you even want this job, I suggest you get to work. Oswaldt is a career military officer, like you. He doesn't deserve this kind of treatment and neither do the beings of the Judicial Forces.
Most sincerely,
Jaso Pryce Senator of Metellos and Supreme Chancellor Emeritus Chairman of the Internal Activities Committee Esteemed Member of the Trade Commission

| Chancellor Pryce,
I apologize if you felt insulted in any way. I guess it wasn't as widely reported as I expected, but shortly after my selection, I was forced to travel back to my homeworld and assist the unions in forcing better safety standards in the industrial sector of Duro. I'm afraid my world is subject to rampant corporatism and sadly, the unions and the working class are left nearly voiceless these days. Fortunately for them, I have become their voice. I'm afraid it was a drawn out fight, drawn out even more so by an assassination attempt upon my life., but it is not a matter of concern nor should I bore you with mundane details of my annual month spent on leave with my family and visiting the people of my home sector.
I have begun the proceedings, and write this to you as we await Admiral Oswaldt's arrival. I understand, however, that short notice was given and he may be running late; we have prepared for that likely eventuality. I, again, apologize for any slight you might have felt, but I have a duty to my people, which I have not and will not forget. If notice was not given to your office of my leave, I apologize as well, as it must have been a clerical error on the part of my staff.
Zaizhi Kongming Senator of Duro and the Duro Sector Chair of the Judiciary Committee
Admiral of the Fleet, Duro Navy Admiral of the Coreworlds
Former Commandant of the Judicial Forces
