Dear Sir,

My worlds are choked Sir, Choked! By the un-ethical suffocating obstacles the Republic has put upon trade between the Senex and Juvex Sectors. We in House Hax seek merely to export legal and highly prized products, mainly the finest cotton in the Galaxy, fine naturally grown and hand cut tabac and also many varieties of Rum and Sugar.

We wish you to find an amenable intermediary for such trade (or serve as one yourselves, we will ask few questions)... Find a world (outside Republic control would be safest) which would be willing to repack and relabel our goods.

We seek your company from our worlds of Suliana, Denebia and Antiquity, such cargoes, and to the intermediary who has trade into the Republic Markets, we would pay an above average fee for your discretion and services in finding an intermediary. We would pay a 5% tariff to whoever would be such an intermediary which you would pay them by taking a share of the cargo yourselves and giving it to them.

We would use the normal Federation Freight services to ship from the intermediary to the core or other markets so as to avoid suspicion and potential smuggling charges to yourselves.

Sincerely,

Lord Bane Hax

Lord Hax,

I appreciate your predicament and sympathize with you; it's my opinion that the Republic's policy toward the Senex Sector is unfair, considering the proliferation of slavery on thousands of notionally Republic worlds who aren't punished with sanctions as your Sector is. It is also a failed policy, as it has clearly failed in its goal to dissuade the Senex or Juvex Sector from the practice of slavery. While Vega Intersolar is also opposed to slavery, I don't support the Senex-Juvex trade embargo because two wrongs don't make a right.

Vega Intersolar is, however, a law-abiding company that is dependent on the Republic for its exclusive trading contract in the Circarpous Sector. What you propose is perhaps not illegal, but it has the appearance of being illegal, and my company can't afford a lengthy legal battle with the Republic. Moreover, taking legal possession of cargoes would be a change in our business model that my board of directors is unlikely to endorse at this time. Vega Intersolar additionally has an adversarial relationship with the Trade Federation and wouldn't enter into such an arrangement with them. We're also currently waiting on other business opportunities to develop before embarking on any new ventures.

I will, however, do what I personally can to advocate on behalf of the Senex Sector and against the Republic trade embargo, in the hopes that Vega Intersolar may do legitimate business with you in the future.

Cordially,

Drayson Lorano de Vega
Proprietary Chairman and CEO
