| Dear Sirs,
The Ruusan Reformation prohibits your fleets from operating certain vessels. Inspection of these standards has not been uniform or cohesive over the last centuries and so we would like to ask you all to list any ships in breach of the regulations. In exchange for a full disclosure on an illegal ship it is likely that the Military Arms Regulatory Bureau will either not press charges if the violation is minor, advise the Chancellor to Pardon the Infraction or petition any trial to be as lenient as possible with your world (and lobby for you to be able to keep your ship, since you honestly declared it).
The Ruusan Ship Regulations Specify two categories of legal ship. - Defense Picket: Warships up to 600m in length, no restriction in hyperdrive speed or starcharts in main computer.
- Defense Monitor: Warships over 601m in length, these are restricted to having a Class 5 Hyperdrive or slower. Their navicomputers should have no more than regional charts present.
Do you have a war craft over 600m in length with a hyperdrive faster than Class 5? Without a waiver from the Military Arms Regulatory Bureau (or one of the other waivers extant such as those born by certain Core Armadas etc)?
Come forward and request amnesty (this will be considered confidential unless charges are pressed) within a month, and your case will be favourably viewed.
Also, do you have any any capital ships you might have in your fleets that are past their useful life but which you cannot afford the scrappage of? These ships contain many toxic chemicals and should not just be left to rust or in a degrading orbit that could cause massive environmental damage one day.
The Military Arms Regulatory Bureau ship recycling scheme will happily take any ships which require dismantling and have them decommissioned and dismantled in a safe environment, for free. Even in cases where the value of the scrap is less than the cost of dismantling. In the event there is a profit made from the scrapping, it will be returned to your world by the end of the tax year during which work completes.
Sincerely,
Gregorius Gemmell
Constitutional Lord Protector of Utrost. Director of the Military Arms Regulatory Bureau. Order of the Canted Circle Member. Retired Director of Republic Intelligence.
